Description of 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza

Relisted with new pictures, more info, and lower price with Buy-It-Now. Please read all the way to the end, there is more info there. This 1966 Corvair coupe has had the engine rebuilt from the valves out (block not touched), the differential and powerglide were also rebuilt. The fuel tank was cleaned and coated, with a new sending unit. The front brakes were redone, with new cylinders, shoes, hoses, and the drums were turned. Rears looked fine, so they were not done. Stops good and straight. The sway bar bushings were replaced when the tank was dropped. The battery and tires (all 5) were new 1 year ago, and have approximately 300-400 miles on them now. The wire hubcaps are not great, have the usual dings. The original wheels, tires, and hubcaps are included. It has factory A/C, but does not cool. I have an extra evaporator core with t'stat which is what I've been told it needs. Also there is no fast idle solenoid. Body has the usual rust spots under the windshield corners, under the battery area (picture), and leading lower corners of the doors. I have no idea why the title is a salvage title, neither did the previous owner. The interior is fair, with no upholstery rips, but it is old. The windshield has a crack, and the powerglide shift cable needs to be replaced as it is leaking badly. The antenna has been broken off, and the radio does not work. The speedometer does work, but not sure how accurate it is. Runs and drives OK, but still needs some adjustments, mostly carbs. Forgot to mention last time, it does have electronic ignition, although I do not know what brand it is. Mileage showing on odometer is 25,668, so I'm assuming 125,668 - but who knows with a car of this age. Over $4,000 invested so far. Shop manuals are included. Yes, the car can be driven away, although not sure I would leave here and go cross-country with it. The furthest I have driven it is a 120 mile round trip. Had absolutely no problems. No reserve, highest bidder wins. Here's where things change. I've added a buy-it-now option, and if you take that, or the winning bid is at least as high as the buy-it-now, then all spare parts are included with the sale. Winning bidder still gets first crack at some tools, such as a hydraulic press, table-top Safety Kleen parts washer, transmission jack, etc. These items are not included in the car sale, but can be purchased very reasonably. Change in life direction forces sale. Car to be picked up approx. 25 miles south of Ft. Worth, TX. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit is due through Paypal at auction end. At pick-up, balance due in cash.
