Description of 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible X22 396 SS/RS 4-speed |
1969 Camaro SS-RS 396 motor, 4 speed,12 bolt rear, convertible "unrestored" 93,572 original miles. Needs a full restoration. This is a 1 of 1 car because it's the only 1969 Camaro super car of this caliber still unrestored and stored indoors for the last 47 years. You will be the first one to ever work on this car !! The car has never been for sale and its intact. "Please read carefully before making a decision or asking questions" " I was told this car has the original motor still in it however I will list it as having the correct 396 motor in it because I do not know for sure if it is the original motor. " No matter what it is this is a very valuable car and very rare in unrestored conditions" This car has been stored in a warehouse since 1975 and owned by the 76 year old owner since 1970. I am helping the elderly owner of this car tosell it for the first time in almost47 years. If you have any questions you may contact me at 305-389-2334 my name is Ben. I will be happy to assist you. Please read the listing and ask questions before committing to buy this car. This is a very rare car and the owner is a very serious person so please we demand serious buyers. I will try to describe this car to the best of my knowledge, i know a few facts about 1969 Camaros but if you know more than me please correct me. I've known the owner of this car for the last 30 years, he's now 76years old and wants to retire and sell his treasured car he purchased sometime in the early 1970's. Don't ask about the other cars, this is the only one he wants to sell from his collection. This is an "unrestored" 1969 Camaro SS/RS 396 Big Block, Muncie 4 speedconvertible 396moto, 4 speed transmission and complete. When was the last time you saw this caliber of a car "unrestored" for sale? This car was running when parked 40 years ago, it is belived to have its original factory paint still on it : code 71 Le mans blue . The body of this car is in very good conditions as you can imagine it has been indoors for the past 40 years. The car has very little rust, the drivers side quarter has some rust on the bottom, the front fenders have rust on the bottoms which is very usual on these cars. The floors are in good conditions except the back floorboards need patch replacements, the drivers side is already cut out and the passengers side has little holes. The trunk floor is very nice and solid. Besides what i just mentioned the body of this car is in very clean conditions. This is a very solid foundation which is also very hard to find, if you could find another car like this one it will probably be all rusted out and that's if you find it! The sheet metal just looks amazingly clean and solid considering this is almost a 50 year old "unrestored" car. The hood is clean, the panel under the front windshield is rust free, the rockers are rust free, the doors are very clean and straight, the quarters need some work but are very nice too, the Blacked out BB car tail panel is rust free, the trunk lid and all the metal around the top of the quarters are rust free, The whole frontend of the car is very clean. The frame of the convertible top is very nice with the exception of the piece that goes near the windshield when the top is closed. These are some of the specs of the car : 396 motor, we have no knowledge if it is the L34, L35, L78, we do know it is not the L89 option. The caris an X22 car with the Z22 RS option group. The trim tag is in place and in excellent condition. Front disc brakes. The transmission is a muncie 4 speed we don't know if it is an m22 or m21 but it is the original. The 12 bolt is there i don't know the exact gears .. The interior is a standard 727 coded, the owner has the seats somewhere in this warehouse and stored and yes they go with the car. All gages are present including the rpm gage, the speedometer, the clock right in the middle of both which is called the tic tac clock if i'm not mistaken. Documentation: The owner has a bank deposit box where he keeps all of his legal documents, he told me he has the title but he does not remember if there is more documentation, this means you will get the title and maybe you get very lucky and get more documentation if its there, just count on getting a titlebut if there is more paperwork you will get it too. He is in the process of cleaning the warehouse and getting everything ready to take the car out when it sells. "When you purchase this car you have to give the owner at least 1 week to get the car ready for you to take to your destination." I am describing all I was told by the aging owner of this car, i am only human and i know I'm probably forgetting some facts so "Please ask questions" before planning on buying this rare car. My personal cell phone is 305-389-2334 my name is Ben, you may call me with your questions or you may also send me an email. Professional inspections are welcomed prior to buying the car please not after you bought the car. The car has been described to the best of my knowledge, the owner is selling it "AS IS" however you do have the right to inspect it. I am helping the owner to sell this car and i am the person handling the sale of this car with the owner's permission. This is a very rare car and a serious transaction, we demand serious buyers! If you do not have the funds for a car this caliber please do not make offers. The car has to be paid in full before you take it. Thank you |
