Description of 1970 Chevrolet Corvette

Affordable, drop-top Corvettes are still out there, including this great-looking 1970 roadster. Dressed in a cool custom color combination with a matching hardtop, along with a set of flashy chrome wheels, it's most definitely an eye-catcher. Power comes from its matching-numbers 350 cubic inch small block driving a 4-speed manual. In short, this Corvette is the perfect recipe for summertime fun. We'll admit that the purple paint with subtle ghost flames isn't for everyone, but if you are looking for a fun car that drives right and gets a ton of attention, you could certainly do a lot worse. The body is in very good condition, with the chrome bumpers integrating nicely with the hot rod bodywork. Not built to show (and priced appropriately), this Corvette is all about hitting the road, and looks great rolling down the highway where people will envy the wide smile on the driver's face. A few pinstripes add some contrast and we have to admit that we like the look overall, particularly with the hardtop installed, which gives it a custom appearance without needing any major surgery. The shiny parts are in good order and you'll note a modern Stingray emblem from a late-model C7 'Vette on the front fenders, a nice detail that really works. The customized interior blends original and updated parts that work well together. The seat covers with purple fabric inserts are in good condition and show wear appropriate to their age, while the black carpets are more recent. The dash, door panels, and console also appear to be original pieces, and the fact that it is in such well-preserved condition suggests that this car has had a pretty easy life with storage out of the sun. The gauges are all functional except the clock, and the wood-rimmed steering wheel on the tilt and telescoping column is an aftermarket piece wearing a Corvette horn button. A later AM/FM/cassette stereo has been installed in the original radio's location, making this Corvette a pleasure to cruise in, particularly with the black convertible top stowed and the open air blowing in. Look past the obvious and you'll find there's a lot to like here.Speaking of cruising, power comes from the car's original, numbers-matching 350 cubic inch small block. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and polished intake manifold add a little horsepower, while a billet chrome air cleaner and valve covers add some under hood sparkle. It fires up easily and sounds potent breathing through shorty headers and a healthy dual exhaust system, just as you would expect from a Corvette. A wide-ratio 4-speed manual makes it a blast to drive, even if only to listen to the engine winding through the gears. The suspension has been maintained properly, and the brakes work well, which is important on a car that can generate the speeds that this one can. It rolls on a set of awesome-looking 15-inch chrome wheels wearing 245/60/15 performance radials. With massive resources and parts support, these are truly wonderful cars to own and drive, and you'll find that everyone is your friend when you're behind the wheel of a cool custom Corvette convertible.
