Description of 1950 Chevrolet Other |
1950 Chevy Sedan. I doubt you will find a driver on Craigslist or eBay at this low of a price! Better photos and videos are at this url: this1950chevy.tumblr.com (Sorry the car in the photos is kind of dirty, we had recently had a lot of blowing dust storms here in the desert, and I didn't have the energy to wash it all off. Recent health and life changes has me downsizing my collection, I have a few more cars to sell because I cant do it all anymore.). 216 six with 3-on-the-tree manual. First put into service 12/1950. Mostly all original. I purchased this years ago from a drummer of a band in Seattle. It was his daily driver to gigs, and shortly after was my daily driver for a few years. I enjoyed it so much, I paid to move it with me to Phoenix and it has been a lot of fun over the years. It was spray painted primer black and gold when I purchased it. Body is fairly straight and I recently touched up the black primer because the Arizona sun eats it away quickly. Ready for a quick sand and repaint to your liking, or drive it as-is as a rat rod bomb! Was originally metallic blue. Some rust in typical spots, mainly driver door and under rear fenders. But trunk and everywhere else looks to be decent, no big holes in the floor that I have found. Has a dual carb / dual exhaust setup. You probably will want the exhaust re-welded to align it better, its there ok, but both have twists that make the tips not aligned out the back. I recently fixed a cracked exhaust manifold, and the replacement had a slightly different twist to the flanges. It has dual pipes with cherry bombs. Starts easy, runs ok. Also, recently put in new starter. Battery is good, and it had been converted to 12v some time in its past. Just put on brand new tires. Less than 5 miles on them. Almost $500 right there! Speedo worked at one time, then became fussy. Not sure what happened. Lights work, turn signals work. Someone lowered the rear suspension with 3" lowering blocks. Front is all stock. Fender skirts are in good condition and are functional. Should get a service soon, you will need to check over the brakes, fluids, etc. because it has basically sat for the last two years, I ran it around the block every few months to keep the fluids going. Probably could use a tune up and a brakes bled/flush. Interior is almost all original, has basic seat covers to cover the original seats. The front and rear dash have been covered in a tasteful blue tiger stripe fabric. Still has both sunvisors. Missing radio, and I think the old vacuum wiper system is there but not functional. There is vent tubing, and an possibly an old heater core in the trunk. In Arizona, never think about heaters, so I never looked into it. Should be an easy start for a good lowrider, bomb or whatever. I don't think it will take much to make it a reliable daily driver again. Around here, $2k gets you the same car, but all in pieces and not running. This is a running car with a dressed up Offenhauser motor! FINE PRINT: Sold, AS-IS, how it sits right now, because it is an older classic car. No warranties or promises of anything. As with any used car, you should plan to have it serviced and inspected yourself before you use it. I tried to make it clear for all the things that matter, but it is your responsibility to know what you are buying. Pre-inspection is okay on appointment because I am not always with the car. Please take a good look at the photos and videos and ask questions before bidding. I reserve the right to cancel the auction for any reason, including listing errors and erroneous bidders. MORE FINE PRINT: Winning bidder to pay $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit at end of auction. I do this because of people that think this is a game and it has cost me money. Balance of payment is due within 7 days after of end of auction, only by CASH in person transacted at my bank, or certified cashiers check by mail, or Paypal (See below). Once funds have cleared my bank, I will give you clean Arizona title, by hand or FedEx overnight to you.
