Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle |
This car was built and sold new in California. It spent its whole life the the dessert area until I purchased it this year. In the 70s it was owned by somebody that affiliated with the airforce base in Nevada as it has a sticker on the front bumber. As being a big Chevelle guru I believe this car born a 402 big block Malibu Chevelle as the original springs in the front are big block springs and it has the upper 12 bolt rearend trailing arm. It has 1971 10 bolt rearend in it now and engine was removed. The only rust on the whole car is typical area on the bottom of the fender. The body is very straight. It was repainted twice over the original fathom blue. The car never had a vinyl top but looks like somebody may have had car cover on it and formed some surface on the roof so I did media blasted the roof and prime it. The only draw back on the car is that at one time somebody put some small rear wheel flares on it. It would be fixable without a lot of work. It appers they sliced the inner lip and bent it outward and then filled it with body filler to form the flare. It extends out only about a inch or 1 1/4. I removed the front seat and removed the old carpet to get good picture of the floor. The originl paint surface was not sanded properly as you can see and a lot of the paint is peeling off. This is 5 day auction that will end Sunday. Email with any questions. |
