Description of 1966 Chevrolet Corvette -- |
This sculpted Sting Ray coupe is a fully documented classic that wraps timeless red and black aesthetics around an original 4-speed and an original 427. If you're looking to storm the collector car hobby with guaranteed pedigree here's an easy ride to the front of the pack! Originating at GM affiliate A.O. Smith in May of 1966 this slick C2 is the kind of classic that you can look at and virtually sense top-notch caretaking. As you likely deduced from our high-resolution photography the car was... recently restored by very passionate enthusiasts. That ground-up reboot began with solid original fiberglass being fully stripped lovingly sanded and gratuitously sprayed in glossy Rally Red 2-stage. With that pigment applied the car's doors and lids were carefully adjusted to ensure good fit and finish. And vibrant factory trim was affixed under a correct big block hood to ardently accentuate Bill Mitchell's razor-sharp style lines. Tilt the hood and you'll find an original 427 cubic inch L72 big block that according to the factory creates a solid 425 horsepower. Behind that awesome mill an original Muncie 4-speed twists a familiar transverse leaf axle. That drivetrain rolls on a fully rebuilt suspension which mixes old school manual steering with 4-wheel disc brakes. And at the corners of the floor 205/75R15 Coker Classic redlines lap traditional Knock-Off Wheels. Check between this C2's doors and you'll find a correct Standard Interior that's been completely restored. Tight bucket seats frame a thin console that's equipped with a correct chrome shifter. In front of that shifter a monochromatic dash hangs rebuilt telemetry over a correct Delco AM/FM radio. And in front of the driver a faux Rosewood steering wheel laps a familiar bowtie emblem. If you've been searching for a fully sorted classic that looks right and more importantly feels right call click or visit for the opportunity to claim this sweet Sting Ray! |
