NADA lists this car at $5950 average retail. Since I have owned the car. I have completely rebuilt the engine (approx. 30k miles ago) with upgraded parts (listed below). swapped the 700-R4 automatic for a WC-T5 transmission from a 1989 Trans Am. rebuilt the WC-T5 transmission (less than 1k miles ago) and had the rear axle rebuilt (approx. 15k miles ago. currently has 2. 73 gears and an open differential. though 3. 73s and an Auburn posi go with the car. ) Most of the original parts have been stored since removal. and go with the car -- just in case you want to put it back to stock. During the engine rebuild. the car was converted over from TBI to TPI (Tuned Port Injection) found on Corvettes and high performance Camaros of the time. This was done using a Dynamic EFI system. allowing for complete control over engine tuning. For the right price. my tuning laptop and wideband O2 sensor go with the car. Please look into Dynamic EFI. they have a wonderful system for this generation Camaro/Firebird and Bob R. 's customer service is top notch. If the laptop is not desired. I can copy the software to a USB drive so you can use your own laptop. With regard to the current parts on the car. here is the list: Engine: Keith Black Hypereutectic Pistons. 4. 00" Bore Eagle Forged Connecting Rods Crower Camshaft. 204* Duration. . 494" Intake. . 505" Exhaust Crower Valvesprings (designed to match the cam) and new retainers Mildly ported '113 Casting Aluminum Heads with 3 angle valve job Melling High Volume Oil Pump 180* Thermostat Low temp. This car comes with a rather rare spoiler only issued on 1988 models. 4 Wheel Disc Brakes from 2001 Chevrolet Blazer . compatible with this car with some modification Toshiba Laptop -- for engine monitoring/tuning Wideband Oxygen sensor and controller. with software -- for more accurate engine tuning than stock Narrowband In all. this car has had significant upgrades done to it while in my possession. Although it has a few miles. the engine. transmission. and rear axle have all been rebuilt within the past 30k miles. There are other Camaros currently available for sale for less money. but require more work. For somebody interested in a fast. fun car for much less money than I have in it and plenty of extra go-fast parts. this is the car for them. I hope that the new owner treats it well. and appreciates it as I have. The car truly has a character all to itself. and will be missed. |
