Description of 1969 Chevrolet Nova Base |
For sale is a 1969 Chevrolet Nova 2 door coupe. Ive had this Nova for a few years. The body is an original gm body, its really solid and in good shape. It had fresh paint and primer this winter and has been buffed. The doors are off a 1971 Nova and have the full window rather than the quarter window which always has issues, they are solid and close very nicely. The doors have crank windows and manual locks which both function as they should. They have new lock cylinders. The whole body is steel except for the hood and front bumper, both of which are fiberglass. The hood is a 2" Hardwood cowl induction hood, secured by 4 hood pins. The interior is mostly complete with carpet, headliner and custom door panels. The Dash is factory style with an updated gauge panel outfitted with electric Autometer gauges. The speedometer is programmable so if you change tire size or gear ratio it is easy to fix the speedometer so its accurate. There is a 5" Autometer Tach mounted on the top of the dash with a programmable shift light. There are 4 switches mounted on the dash to control window wipers, line lock and then 2 that are currently not hooked up to anything but could be used for many things. There is a Kenwood headunit installed in the dash and 4 sony speakers mounted throughout the interior. The drivers seat is an aluminum lightweight Kirkey Racing Seat with a cloth cover, its actually very comfortable and gives excellent support. The passenger seat is polymer racing seat with a leather like cover. Both seats and tied into the floor and roll cage. The car has a 6 point roll cage, made out of 1.75" tubing. It has a fire extinguisher mounted to one of the roll bars. The interior is finished up with a B&M Ratchet Shifter. The front suspension is the factory control arms with newer coil springs and competition engineering shocks. The rear suspension is a mono leaf setup with slapper bars. The rear shocks have been moved inboard to a crossmember. The brake system is manual without a booster, it has a CPP chrome master cylinder with built in proportioning valve. It has disk brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. The emergency brake is also connected and there is an electric line lock installed. The engine is a 5.3L out of a 2003 Silverado. When I got the engine i tore it down to the rotating assembly, I checked the pistons and cleaned the carbon buildup off the tops of them. I put new headgaskets, cleaned all the oil gallies and put all new gaskets on everything upon reassembly. The cylinder walls still had very nice crosshatching on them. I did install new valve springs that would be strong enough to hold up to a turbo build because that was the original direction of this build. The engine was painted, along with valve covers. It has a new water pump and serp belt. It currently only has an alternator that runs off it, but if someone desired to install power steering or a/c the factory brackets are present. The engine starts right up, drives and idles excellent. The harness has been modified to make it standalone. It has a drive by wire throttle body and matching pedal. It has an aftermarket air intake behind the passenger side headlight. This 5.3 is factory fuel injected and the fuel system is powered by a Bosch 044 pump mounted below the trunk. In the trunk is a 15 gallon aluminum fuel cell and the battery. It has an aluminum 3 core radiator and 2 speed electric fan controlled by the PCM. The transmission is out of a 1999 Silverado, and had 90k on it. Its a 4L60e. It is factory with a transgo hd2 shift kit, other than the ratchet shifter being installed. It shifts well and could be tuned to be even better. The rear axle is a 12 bolt chevy car version, with 4.11 gears and a locker. It has a c clip elimination kit installed and an aluminum cover than had adjusting screws to hold down the main caps of the differential. The rear tires are Nitto 555r street radials that are 275/60r15. The front are 26" Mickey Thompson skinnes. Both front and rear tires are on on Weld Draglite aluminum wheels. This car is ready to go, it runs and drives well and is all fresh and ready for someone to take it in any direction they desire. It just passed inspection and all the work has been done. Someone could keep it as a drag car and add a turbo, or with a few suspension and brake tweaks turn it into an autocross car. It gets up and goes and is a joy to drive. It starts right up and you dont need to worry about messing with a carburetor. All the fluids in it are fresh and it doesnt need anything but a new enthusiastic owner. I did all the work myself and can answer any questions. The PCM had vats removed a slight tune done with HPtuners and can easily be tuned and modified. Everything works on this car. Videos of the car can be seen here:https://youtu.be/QIYYNMK1E7A and https://youtu.be/KnPt5mIjnOw Im sure I forgot some things, but any questions feel free to contact me 518-429-7336. No refunds or returns will be offered after the sale. So i encourage you to come look at the car before bidding. Test drives will be done by me until someone has cash with them. I reserve the right to remove from ebay at anytime because it is for sale locally as well. I will not ship or coordinate shipping. I will help load the car and be available as much as possible if buyer arranges shipping. Thank you for viewing. |
