Description of 1968 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport 396 |
Selling my RARE 1968 Chevy II/Nova that I've owned this car for 32 years. There were under 1000 of these big block cars with 325/375hp engines combined. This Nova has stainless trim and badges I have never seen on any other Nova. It's always been well taken care of and no expense spared. I've continually upgraded this vehicle to make it a good daily driver yet fun for handling and going fast. I've added power steering, air conditioning, sway bars and front disk brakes. The list of upgrades goes on and on. I'll list them at the end. You're probably wondering about the paint. The story goes that this car was painted for the World of Wheels here in Chicago and with the hand painted/airbrushed skyline of Chicago it won second place in its class. You can easily tell how long ago this car was painted because the iconic Sears/Willis Tower is missing from the skyline. The tower was completed in 1973. The reflections of the buildings can be seen in the water of lake michigan. Chicago Blues and Life in the Fast Lane are hand lacquer painted on this retro ride. Many time I have thought of painting it, but I've had it this long, that I cannot bring myself to remove it. The choice is yours. I can tell you the body is perfectly straight, original metal except for the fiberglass hood. The trunk/floor are all rust free and original speckle paint. The rear fender lips were rolled to allow for larger tires of the era. I've put on American Racing wheels with probably too much offset for most people. I've lost interest in working on this car to have it sit in my garage year after year without me driving it but only a few miles a year. The care was purchased with 2500 miles on the odometer and now has about 17,000 miles. I've loved this car and it's taught me a lot in my younger years and now that I have become a professional mechanical engineer I gave back as much love as I could. I hope to find this rare nova the right enthusiast to take this car to the next level. Here is short a list of what I can remember. Feel free to call me or email me for videos or more information.
