Description of 1978 Chevrolet Malibu |
Estate sale: 1978 Chevy Malibu coupe, first year of its style.selling for a longtime friend whose parents bought the car in 1984 with 18,000 miles on it. It now has but a whisker over 70,000 miles.Always garaged, no winter usage. frame is excellent with no rot/repairs. Body is very good, with no rot, just a shadow of surface rust at the bottom of the quarters, (see photos) interior is original with the exception of the headliner, which was professionally redone. the worst flaw you'll find inside are several tiny cig burns on drivers seat, doubt they'll even show in photos. the son is a master mechanic and always kept his parents' car top notch. runs fine, shifts fine, good brakes. tires have plenty of tread, but have age on them. the only options the car has are optional 305 V8, cloth interior, and 2 tone paint. No A/C. Am radio. Maine does not title cars of this age.Still have original title from 1984, in his parents' name, as well as legal documentation showing him as the sole rep of the estate. Please check your own state's title laws before committing to buy the car.Every state is different!! The right is reserved to end the listing early, as the car is for sale locally. if you would like to view it in person, that can be done, but only with appointment hitting Buy It now is a legal commitment to buy.Non-refundable $800 deposit due within 24 hours after purchase.balance to be paid within 72 hours, unless other arrangements are agreed on Not many Malibus of this era survived this well, or were cared for this much.most of them here in the northern US fell victim to corrosion issues or the drag strip, or else have been irrevocably modified.here's a chance to own a turnkey, bone stock 40 year old survivor. thanks for looking serious buyers can call me @ 207-230-1195, if you get voice mail, I will call you back, please advise best time to return your call. |
