Description of 1977 Chevrolet Camaro |
This is a completely restored numbers matching 1977 Camaro. It is a 2-owner original Arizona vehicle which was purchased new in Phoenix in 1977. and has been in southern Arizona its whole life. The last owner had the vehicle since 1979. but had not driven it since 1995. We have put on about 1000 miles since the frame-off restoration (the odometer shows 154. 25 which are original miles). During the restoration the car was completely disassembled and every component was inspected and repaired or replaced as necessary. Since the car was 100% original when the project started we wanted to keep as many original parts as possible. The exterior body was stripped down to the bare metal and re-painted the original factory color. There were a couple minor rust spots on the interior and trunk which were repaired. The interior sheet metal was then coated with a heavy duty rust inhibiting paint. Seats were reupholstered. the dash was replaced. the carpet and headliner were replaced. and other interior components refurbished or replaced as necessary. The engine was completely overhauled with a . 030 overbore. new pistons. bearings. camshaft. timing chain. gaskets. valves & springs. etc. The suspension received new bushings. shocks. brakes. ball joints. and steering linkage. Tires are new. The starter is new. The carburetor and alternator were both rebuilt. Front and rear speakers were replaced and we installed a retro appearing modern stereo with a USB port and two auxillary jacks for your iPod. The vehicle starts and drives great. It idles smooth and has good pickup. No work was done to the A/C system so it will need a recharge with the original R12 or converted to modern freon. Also. it has a very small ATF leak. Otherwise it needs nothing. I would not hesitate to get in and drive cross-country. The differential has low ratio gears which makes it a nice highway cruiser. Or you can use it for just a local commuter. Either way it is a blast to drive. The reserve is reasonable considering the amount of money we put into it. It’s much cheaper to buy a restored vehicle than to buy a junker and restore it yourself. Don’t pay inflated prices for a Z28 clone. A car with the original drivetrain and sheet metal is not only rarer. but a much better value. All receipts and documentation for the restoration have been retained and will be turned over to the buyer. along with a couple boxes of spare parts and a complete set of factory repair manuals. In addition. I have hundreds of photos that were taken throughout the restoration which I'll burn to a CD for the new owner. Title is clean and clear.
