Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro |
This is a true survivor 1968 Camaro with 17,038 original miles. I am posting this for a friend who is not an ebay seller. He purchased the Camaro from the original owner's nephew in 2010 with just over 15K original miles on it. The car was purchased new in Los Angeles California and remained with the original owner until she gave it to her nephew from Iowa in 2004. The car comes with extensive detailed documentation including the original invoice, Protecto-Plate, all service & maintenance records, original Black Plates, yearly registration cards from California DMV, etc. The authenticity of the low miles is obvious when you see the condition of the car, but it is also fully documented on all of the receipts as well as the the 1979 oil change sticker on the door that indicates 12,793 miles at that time. The Ash Gold exterior is original paint with the exception of an old repair on the right rear from a parking lot bump in 1982. Repair is very nicely done and hard to detect. It has a few chips and very minor door dings as expected on a 50 year old car. Also, the original gas cap was lost and replaced with an aftermarket cap at some point. Interior is all original and near mint. There is some fading on back of driver's seat panel and on the arm rests and some chips on rear of counsel as shown in the photos. The car runs and drives very nicely. It has the original 327 (18L342328 0517ME) with Powerglide transmission. Options include power steering and brakes along with factory A/C. The A/C was not working when purchased from the original owner's nephew and we have not had it checked out. Should be an easy be repair as it is all original and looks to have never been apart. The original water pump was replaced along the way, but the original was retained and comes with the car. The car has a clear Illinois title in current owner's name.
