Description of 1959 Chevrolet Other |
Up for bids today is a 1959 CHevrolet Parkwood 4 door station wagon. It's a nice western car that needs complete restoration. Was made in Los Angeles. Ca at the old South Gate plant. Later it spent many years outdoors on a North Dakota farm. It does not appear to have salt damage. It has a clear South Dakota title (vin # D59L105717). It has NO motor or transmission. but it has a v-8 with a 3 speed stick on the column (3 on the tree). Has not ever been repainted except some touch ups. No putty. Rockers and body mounts are solid. Frame is good. There is a little rust near the lower rear quarters. Drip rail above tailgate glass appears to be good. There is a dent on rear of left quarter panel. near the bumper tip area. Not wrecked and not hailed on. Rear floor pan (where your feet go) are completely rusted out. Snow probably blew in an open rear door window and sat in the foot well area. Front floor has surface rust. but no big holes. Spare tire well has no rust (see pictures). Right side rear door needs some adjustment. Interior needs new upholstery but has original seats. Original radio. steering wheel and gauges. Car rolls easily (around yard or on to a trailer). No working brakes on it right now. There is a small hole on the lower tailgate (see pictures). There may be a few other small rust spots. typical of a 56 year old project car. Has the one piece California bumpers. Old car price guide shows $2. 40 for a #5 condition wagon and $4. 00 for a #4. A #1 restored car shows $25. 00 or more. It is dealer owned and located in Aberdeen. SD. It's about 100 miles West of the Minnesota border in the NE corner of the state. |
