Description of 1970 Chevrolet SS |
Here in this auction is the crown jewel of all muscle cars. It's the real deal 1970 Chevelle SS. This is NOT a clone or tribute like most out there. This has all the original born numbers matching motor, transmission, and rear end. I also have the original build sheet and can prove everything on this beauty. This was a rare ordered car. It's a 396 L34 SS. It was ordered with A/C, automatic turbo 400 and was a bench seat car. This car is all original except for the paint. They changed the color of the car to the current color about 25 years ago. It was originally a burgundy color. There are no signs of the original paint anywhere that I can see. This is a low mileage car with under 86k miles. We have owned the car since 1990 and it had about 79k miles on it when it was purchased. It runs and drives beautiful. Everything electrical works on this car the way it should. The a/c still works. The radio was updated sometime years ago but they didn't hack up the dash like they normally did back in the day. All the gauges work on the dash. All the lights on the car work correctly. Everything works. The body of this car is in great shape. The car is straight and NOT a bondo bucket. There was quarter panel work on both sides when they did the paint but they did a great job and you can't really tell. The trunk floor is in good shape and is all original. The floor pans are in great shape also. There was one small patch put in on the front drivers side floor. The frame is perfect with no patches or repairs. The paint is really nice on the car. There are a couple small imperfections, scratches, dings, etc from normal use and storage over the years. There is NO rust. The vinyl top is believed to be original and there are no issues with it. No rips or tears anywhere. The suspension and brakes are good all around. It has factory power disk brakes up front. This car drives really smooth. There are no noises or crazy sounds coming from the car when driven or hitting bumps. No oil burning, no smoke, no leaking. The tires are in great shape with plenty of life left on them. The interior of this car is in absolutely great shape. There are no crazy wear marks, no rips or tears. Carpet is good, headliner has no tears or holes. Dash has no punctures or cracks. Interior is beautiful. Bottom line is this car is the real deal 1970 Chevelle SS Numbers matching with factory build sheet. You can get in it and enjoy it. Needs nothing. My asking price is fair for a car being an older restore. You want to take it to the next level there is still room on this car for a good investment.
