Description of 1932 Chevrolet Confederate |
Up for bid is my 1932 Chevy 2 door sedan Cummins powered rat rod. The body of the car is completely covered in real rust not some painted patina job to look like rust. It is just surface rust the body is still very solid. Simple old school pinstriping and a 6 inch chop set it off for that true rat rod look. All wood was removed and replaced with steel for a strong inner structure. Has dash from 55 chevy and comfortable seats which are adjustable can seat someone over 6 foot no problem. The floor is all 1x2 steel structure covered in stained rough cut wood. The grille shell is off a 30's chevy truck. It has coolant temp, oil pressure, volt meter, air pressure and boost gauges. The rear window was cut out to look like a chevy bowtie for a one off look accented with LED lights at night. The original roof cross ribs are still in place and support the canvas roll up roof. Lighting consists of original model A head lamps with new 12 volt bulbs, John Deere diesel pistons with running light attached to front axle and Cadillac rear tail lights with working park, brake and turn signals. It has a Ididit tilt steering colum with GM turn signal switch. The chasis is hand built using 2x4 3/16 box tubing with a 20 inch Z in the back and drop perch up front. When aired out this thing sits on the ground and looks great with that low stance. Speed holes added in front rails for a cool old school look along with friction shocks and holes on the wishbones. Front suspension consists of a 4 inch drop axle with wishbones and drop perch with disc brakes on a suicide axle. The rear axle is out of a suburban set up with air bags and a triangulated 4 link setup. Under the rear floor is the battery, air compressor and air tank. Rear mounted 8 gallon fuel tank with gauge. Has power brakes and power steering. Steering is chain driven between the tilt colum and box for cool look. The brake booster and master cylinder are mounted sideways in the cowl. The steering box is a CPP power Vega box with cross steer has absolutely no bump steer. The car tracts straight and is easy to drive. Fully functional tow hitch with 7 way connector and brake controller. Now for the drive train is a 1994 P pump Cummins 12 valve turbo diesel mated to a 46rh trans with over drive. The motor has just over 100k. The injection pump has been upgraded with 191 delivery valves, some AFC mods and a zero fuel plate suppling fuel to a set of 60 hp injectors. The turbo is off a 2004 common rail pushing over 30 lbs of boost, it is intercooled. Transmission was recently gone through with all new cluthes and seals and a transgo shit kit was installed. Runs and drives great at over 20 miles per gallon and only 140 degrees drive anywhere in style. This car is a all around fun and driver friendly vehicle. One of a kid true rat rod look but with comfort and fuel efficient power. I have won multiple trophies with this car. Stands out every where you go. You won't be disappointed with styling or performance. Feel free to call Joe 914 236 3323 with questions |
