Description of 1964 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe |
1964 Hard Top Sport Coupe - Impala. This Impala sat in my grandfathers garage for the last 8 years. It has many new parts with receipts, including All new Complete brake job! Master Cylinder, brake lines metal and rubber from front to rear, new shoes, springs, new brake cylinders inside the drums and hub bearings. Brake lines are from Inline Tube andprofessionallymade.New Edelbrock 1406 Carb, professionally tuned.New Alternator.New Spark Plugs and wires.Upgraded to an HEI Distributor and gotrid of the points.Wiring harness in trunk and alltaillight sockets have been upgraded from the cheap plastic ones to all metal for better ground. There is a customtrunk installed that is actually pretty sweet looking but can be removed in just minutes, there is NO glue holding it down it is built in as a wood box. Body- He had it painted back in 2010 and it is Dodge Viper Red. There are some paint chips in the body but no major rust or any dents at all! The passenger fender does havebondo and this is the only spot on the car that does have bondo and it is splitting as seen in the 11th picture but other than that the body is solid and is a nice 5 footer. All the trim is there and original and some pieces have therelittle dings in them from the years. Interior- The headliner is mint with no sagging or rips, dash is solid and clean of rust and even comes with the rare factory optional Tach! The door panels are clean and have no rips or tears along with the back seat, carpet and visors. It hasswivel seats out of a 70 Monte Carlo that could use a little attention. All dash lights, speed and tach work as they should, unsure how accurate the gas gauge is but it did move to full after I filled the tank and has moved down from the 20 or so miles I have driven it. Thewiring is beautiful and there are no wireshanging down from under the dash or any other nasty rats nest seen on most older cars. Engine- GM 350 (3970014) engine with headers, brand new Edelbrock carb, brand new plugs, wires, brand new alternator, brand new battery, does not leak oil or burn oil. Power steering is great! TransmissionMuncie 4 Speed(885010) that was new back in 2008. The clutch still needsto be properly adjusted as he was building this car and after installing it and painting the car he fell ill and could not finish the work. I have done what I can but we moved out of our house and into the parents and I have no garage room and my tools and lift are in storage. The car is currently at my church. But even with the clutch needing adjustment it can still be driven. Undercarriage- The floors and trunk are solid! There is a little bit of adeterioration on the passenger side frame rail that isapproximately4 inches long an seen in the last picture, It is only on the inside side of the frame rail the top, bottom and the street side of the rail are solid. Its not horrible at all but could useattention. This car all around is a great everyday driver that will put a smile on your face going down the road and turning heads as it goes by or it is a perfect go to restoration car being everything is there! No interior is needed, the body is solid minus the passenger fender and the frame could use some attention, possiblechanneled like people do when addinghydraulics to these things. If you googlechanneling a impala frame forhydraulics all kinds ofarticles pop up. I would love to keep this car but due to living situations and the fact my wife can not learn how to drive stick I have decided to sell her and there is no reserve on the price. Final Bid wins! local pick-up isavailable and shipping can also bearranged and I will assist anyway needed to get her to you. There is a 100 dollar that will be needed to cover the listing fees and this will come out of theoverall total of the vehicle, however if winning bidder decides not to pay in full the deposit will go to listing andresisting fees.
