Description of 1951 Chevrolet Other deluxe

1951 chevrolet deluxe convertible (it has belair on the registration.) I bought this car from a great longtime friend of mine who's father started the restoration in the late 1980's but passed away recently and left it in this state of disassembly. it was a running driving car when it was disassembled. I had full intention of restoring it and making a nice driver with it but i've run into some financial obligations that is forcing the sale with much regret. First, the body: one of the best i've ever seen as a project of this year / body style, originally the same color as steve mcqueen's convertible, yellow exterior. The body had been mediablasted after being disassembled then it sat inside. The rust color you see is only flash-rust from sitting indoors since the late 80's with the paint stripped, it literally comes right off with a scotchbrite pad with scrubbing(you can see a few bare spots where this theory was tested.). No pitting anywhere from the condensation. The exterior has almost ZERO rust in it, the rockers and quarters are as solid as they can be, inside and out, with the exception of a couple body mounts needing slight work. (i have over 40 pics of the car but ebay only accepts 24.) The doglegs and door jambs / door hinge area are almost 100% solid. What you see is what you get, there are no surprises as i left it stripped. The frame is near perfect, no rust or damage seen, it's never been hit or rotten and it's untouched (it's not stripped, it's just as it was when the car was on the road.)The trunk pan has light surface / scale in the center but seems solid (see pics), the spare tire well is perfect inside and underneath (no dents, no rust). The rear trunk pan / taillamp panel has no rust either, where they're almost all commonly rotten thru. Nice radiator, Extremely nice driver-quality grille assembly is included (the holy grail part on the 51's it seems). I believe 98% of the car is here, one or two pieces of trim are unaccounted for, no windshield as well as the power top hoses but virtually everything needed for this car to restore it is available thru the aftermarket. All major convertible-specific pieces are there (hydraulic pump, convertible specific sunvisors and brackets, inside quarter panels / trim panels, amazing convertible top bow assembly with no rust in the header and still wearing it's original black paint, (folds up and down nice) except the rear seat was gone but a hardtop seat comes with the car, it can be easily cut down to fit before recovering. All convertible-specific side glass is there and in excellent driver-quality shape with pitfree chrome(see pics). All window regulators are still mounted in the quarters and doors (the door shells are rustfree and are in exceptional shape aside from a light ding or two.) ALL the stainless that is with the car seems to be restorable, and all convertible-specific stainless seems to be present and accounted for. Also included is a new convertible top that was bought in the 90's that's still in the box, a set of N.O.S glass taillight lenses that are LYNX-EYE brand, and a whole box of original literature, dealer sales brochure, dealer mailing stamp, price list, parts catalog, owners manual, shop manual, body catalog, etc. The front and rear suspension were put back under the car in order to make it a roller for loading and unloading.
Now the bad: the floor behind the front seat had rust which has been cut out, but another floor comes with the car with all the extra pieces (see pics). the left front floor pan is solid, the right front floor pan has a rust hole about 4" round at the toe panel. The convertible top well area is extremely nice, solid and rustfree. The original engine and powerglide is included but no guarantee that either are rebuildable, as the building separate from the garage the car had been apart in where just the engine and trans were stored burned so the engine and trans both have extreme fire damage (again, the car itself and all other parts were disassembled and stored in a separate building on the property and were untouched by the fire.)There is so much extra that comes with the car, i'll try to list most of it: extra complete front suspension from drum to drum, all still attached to the crossmember, several extra steering boxes and columns (both powerglide and manual shift), several sets of bumpers and guards, extra original-paint doghouse (no hood), the floor section and braces needed for repair, leafsprings, another radiator, a second set of stock fenderskirts as well as a set of louvered skirts, grill pieces, stainless, fuel tank (the original gas tank is still in the car but looks great from the outside), 2 extra wheels, left and right side quarterpanels and a decklid from a business coupe (not needed but comes with the car), several sets of gauge clusters and dash trim pieces, several original wiring harnesses, heater boxes and parts, etc, etc. the extras are too much to completely list here. Also included if you want it is a late 50's, to an early 60's 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed tranny (it's still in a 56 chevy wagon if you want it i'll pull it and include it, supposedly was recently rebuilt and low miles but never heard it run.)
ALSO INCLUDED IN THIS SALE: A never-run mild smallblock chevy 383 stroker that is an old-school build and turbo 350 that I had planned on using in the car. As the engine has sat for a few years inside I did prime it and crank it, it packs 70-plus lbs oil pressure while cranking. The specs: 70's era 350 chevy 2-bolt main block with old-school internally balanced 400 crank (mallory metal) with 350 balancer and flexplate, .030 overbore with hyper flattop pistons and reconditioned rods with all ARP bolts used inside, comp 268H cam with matching springs and retainers / keepers, "041" casting 1970 - 1971 corvette / camaro Z28 heads with front mount holes for later brackets, surfaced W / new hard seats and new guides, "cheater" style circletrack stock-looking stock capacity oilpan with trapdoors, new SFI approved flexplate, new waterpump, doubleroller timing set (i think, it's been awhile since i saw the timing cover off), EDELBROCK performer aluminum intake with newer but used holley 750 cfm dual feed vacuum secondary carburetor with 1" phenolic spacer, old-school polished finned aluminum valvecovers and aircleaner, and a TH350 (used but good working, stock.) also included are the original 70's era P/S pump, alternator, all brackets and pulleys, H.E.I distributor, factory 70's era exhaust manifolds, th350 yoke for a new driveshaft that will need cut.
I have a clean colorado title in my name for the car. It truly hurts to sell it as I had full intention of building it (i've never seen a more solid project like it for sale but at this point i need to.
The car is sold as-is, how-is, where-is. I've described the car to the best of my ability. No warranty expressed or implied, on the car OR any of the engines included.
