Description of 1965 Chevrolet C-10 |
UP FOR SALE IS MY PERSONAL 1965 CHEVY C10 PATINA SHOP TRUCK. THIS TRUCK IS 100% DAILY DRIVER QUALITY. SINCE PURCHASING JUST OVER 1 YEAR AGO, NEARLY EVERY MECHANICAL ASPECT OF THE TRUCK WAS EITHER REPLACED, OR SERVICED, TO INSURE THAT IT WAS DAILY DRIVER, AND CITY TRAFFIC READY. ALL WORK WAS COMPLETED OVER APPROXIMATELY THE LAST 9 MONTHS. STARTING WITH THE EXTERIOR BODY, EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL, FROM THE FRONT BUMPER TO BACK BUMPER. THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED, THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY REPLACED, AND 100% RE-WIRED. AN ORIGINAL VINTAGE 7-UP ALUMINUM COOLER WAS BOLTED TO THE BED OF THE TRUCK, TO BE USED AS EITHER A COOLER OR STORAGE BOX. THE ALUMINUM WHEELS ARE FITTED WITH VINTAGE CADILLAC HUBCAPS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND THE TRUCK WILL ALSO COME WITH AN ADDITIONAL SET OF 1960's CHEVROLET BLUE BOWTIE HUBCAPS. THE WHITE WALL TIRES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH VERY LITTLE TREAD WEAR. THE DRIVERS DOOR IS DENTED LIKE MANY OF THESE TRUCKS, DUE TO THE ORIGINAL DOOR STOPS FAILING, CAUSING THE DOOR TO OPEN TO FAR, WHICH WOULD ALLOW IT TO COME TO REST AGAINST THE EDGE OF THE FRONT FENDER. ORIGNALLY I WAS GOING TO REPLACE THE DOOR, BUT ULTIMATELY DECIDED THAT IT FIT THE LOOK OF THE TRUCK, ESPECIALLY WIH THE ORIGINAL PATINA, SO I HAVE NOT TRIED TO FIX IT. WE RECENTLY ALSO INSTALLED NEW WINDSHIELD WIPERS. A BRAND NEW DUAL MAGNAFLOW EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED BY MIAMI MUFFLER APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO, AND EXITS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. ON TO THE INTERIOR, THE RECENTLY ADDED COVERED BENCH SEAT FEATURES RED AND WHITE ACCENTS, AND SINCE THE 1965 MODEL YEAR DID NOT INCLUDE SEATBELTS, WE ADDED 3 ROYAL BLUE RACING STYLE SEATBELTS TO MAKE SURE THE FAMILY WAS SAFE ON WEEKEND DRIVES AROUND TOWN. AN ORIGINAL C10 CUSTOM TRIM LEVEL WHITE STEERING WHEEL WAS INSTALLED, ALONG WITH A BRAND NEW AUTO-METER GUAGE CLUSTER UNDER THE DASH. THE ORIGINAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS REPLACED WITH A FULLY REBUILT ORIGINAL GUAGE CLUSTER, AND THE TURN KEY IGNITION WAS REPLACED WITH A PUSH START BUTTON AND HIDDEN KILL SWITCH. THE ORIGINAL RADIO DECK OPENING WAS CUT OUT BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER, SO I PURCHASED THE REPLACEMENT PANEL TO WELD IN, BUT HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO GET TO IT (THE NEW PANEL WILL COME WITH THE TRUCK). THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM WAS REPLACE, WHICH INCLUDED AN ENTIRELY NEW FUEL TANK(ORGINAL STYLE BEHIND BENCH SEAT), STRAPS, FUEL NECK, GAS CAP, WIRING, AND ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMP. THE TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW 'MONSTER TRANSMISSION' BRAND 700r4 4-SPEED TRANSMISSION APPROXIMATELY 5-6 MONTHS AGO, WHICH IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE ENTIRE SUSPENSION SYSTEM WAS REPLACED WITH A FULL CPP(California Performance Products) LOWERED SUSPENSION, TUBULAR CONTROL ARMS, AND DROP SPINDLES. WHILE REPLACING THE SUSPENSION WE OPTED TO ALSO REPLACED AND UPGRADE THE FRONT BRAKES FROM DRUM, TO DISC BRAKES, ALSO SUPPLIED BY CPP, LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA. THIS THING NOW DRIVES SMOOTHER THAN ANY OTHER TRUCK IVE DRIVEN IN, AND STOPS ON A DIME. NOW ON TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, THE CHEVY 350 WAS REBUILT, AND 90% OF EVERYTHING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS REPLACED. I AM SURE I WILL FORGET TO MENTION SOME OF THE NEW PARTS BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY. WE ADDED AN ALL NEW EDELBROCK INTAKE MANIFOLD, BRAND NEW RADIATOR, UPGRADED TO AN ELECTRIC FAN, NEW SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES, NEW AIR CLEANER, NEW MATTE BLACK 'BILLET SPECIALTIES' ALUMINUM CHEVROLET SCRIPT VALVE COVERS, NEW OIL PAN WITH GASKETS AND BOLTS, NEW WATER RESERVOIR AND TUBING, NEW ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMP, NEW ALTERNATOR, NEW PULLEYS, AND A FEW OTHER NEW ITEMS I CAN'T RECALL AT THE MOMENT. THE ONLY OTHER MINOR PROJECT LEFT WAS GOING TO BE FIXING THE RUST ALONG THE INTERIOR DOOR SILL, WHICH IS LOCATED DIRECTLY UNDER THE DOOR SILL PLATES ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. IT IS WHERE THE INTERIOR ROCKER PANEL MEETS THE INTERIOR FLOOR BOARD. THERE IS ALSO ONE SPOT OF RUST ON THE DRIVERS SIDE UPPER DOOR FRAME, SPECIFICALLY AROUND THE VIN PLATE. THESE RUST AREAS ARE COMMON RUST LOCATIONS FOR THESE TRUCKS SPECIFICALLY. OTHER THAN THAT THIS TRUCK IS AMAZING. SHE HAS BEEN KEPT IN A GARAGE SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED HER, AND HAS HAD ALL WORK DONE BY THE THE PRO'S AT GHOST PERFORMANCE. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING OR PICK-UP. PLEASE MESSAGE ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. |
