Description of 1987 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado |
Up for sale is my shop truck. The body has some small dings and some rough areas but nothing serious and I'd very solid. The paint has plenty of plenty of chips and scratches but for it's age isn't terrible. The truck has been lowered 6" in the rear and 4 1/2" up front. It has new spindles, springs, shackles and shocks and new leaf spring eye bushings. The brake system has been completely rebuilt with new rotors, drums, brake hoses, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes, pads, wheel bearings and front calipers were freshened up. As for the engine, sometime during the truck's life, was replaced with a 4.3 fuel injected V6. It has been fully tuned up with new distributor cap, rotor, module, plug wires, spark plugs, idle/air control motor, fuel filter and new vacuum hose. The truck runs very smooth and has plenty of power plus gets close to 20 mpg! The transmission has been serviced and a mild shift kit was installed for nice, crisp shifts. All fluids have been changed so it's ready to go! The truck has dual gas tanks with right side tank, fuel pump and float replaced with all new parts. It had rust in the front fenders and inner fender wells so all of those pieces were replaced along with the battery tray, battery and battery cables for trouble free electrics. The interior was completely removed and the cab was scrubbed thoroughly before replacing the carpet, insulation, headliner and seat cover. I installed a Coverlay dash cover and dyed all the interior panels to match. The power windows work perfectly with new motors and the power locks work as well. I replaced all the lock cylinders so that 1 key fits everything. The truck also has a new grill and headlight doors as the old one's were cracked and weathered. I tried to photograph all the rough areas on the body. There are a lot of chips on the front edge of the hood and some surface rust spots here and there but no holes.the bed inside is pretty decent for it's age and the tailgate works as it should. The underside of the truck looks better than the top. Now for the bad. The temperature gauge doesn't work but the engine runs cool with no overheating issues whatsoever. The oil pressure gauge is intermittently inoperative but the truck carries good oil pressure. I replaced the oil pressure sending unit as the gauge didn't work at all. The air conditioning compressor and condenser are missing (they were missing when I bought the truck) but all the mode doors and fan work as they should. The tires are old and need to be replaced. Overall the truck is very reliable and goes down the road straight. For a lowered truck the ride is not bad and handles well. The 1987 models are considered the most desirable of all the square bodies and this one would take very little to make it into a really nice truck. I have tried to describe my truck as honestly and thoroughly as I could. If you have any questions, please send me your contact information and the best time to call you and I'll be happy to answer your questions HONESTLY. I have a 100% rating and want to keep it that way!I am selling this truck "as-is" with no returns accepted and the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. I will require a non refundable deposit of $500 so please be serious about buying this truck. Thanks for looking!!! |
