Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS Tribute |
This is a 1968 Camaro that was e This is a 1968 Camaro that was engineered to be enjoyed minus the hassles. If you want something that performs and handles like a muscle car should, this is it. This Camaro was fully restored by a crafty car builder & professional engineer here in Kansas City, Mo. Within the photos below you will notice how meticulous he was to all of the details. His finishing work is phenomenal. His intention was to build a car that was fun & required no work. While he did achieve his goal in this build, he was also wise enough to think ahead and to hold on to her original parts so that some day, he could return her back to her former glory.
The entire body of the Camaro is solid and has no rust. It is extremely straight. The paint and body work were done professionally and the Camaro looks great. The grille and super sport badge is brand new. All of the glass is in great shape as is the stainless and chrome. There is some minor pitting starting to form around the taillight moldings but nothing severe. The underside of the car has some nicely installed sub frame connectors and traction bars. Within the interior of the car you will see that he had installed a rollcage. This rollcase was installed with the intentions of being easy to remove. He built some simple brackets that are welded to the floor for the roll cage to mount in to. Cut the spot welds and remove.
Mechanically this Camaro is sound. You don't have to tinker with it, you don't have to do anything outside of regular maintenance. Change the oil and drive it. The engine within this Camaro is a built 350 4 bolt engine. It has World Product cast heads, a new 750 Holley carburetor that sits upon a new Holley aluminum intake, an aluminum radiator, headers, and new 2 1/2 inch stainless steel exhaust. This engine is dialed and has zero mechanical problems. It does not leak, smoke, nor burn an excess amount of fluid. It is powerful and never shy. The Muncie 4 speed is just as reliable as the engine. It shifts through its gears swiftly. The 10 bolt posi rear end is geared at 373 and is also in excellent mechanical order.
The interior of the Camaro is a testament to the intentions of this build. To be safe while you played with your horsepower :) It was also constructed so that it could easily be taken back to its original state. Included with this Camaro are the correct bucket seats and rear back seat. To take it back to stock, all you will need are door panels, seat covers, and a package tray cover. I personally believe that the lucky person who ends up owning the Camaro, will more than likely keep the interior that is in it. It just seems to grow on you the more you're around it. The instrument panel of the Camaro is original and it is in good working order. The dash pad, headliner, and seats are in excellent shape. The door panels he had custom made and they fit as well as function very well. We do have a clear title for the Camaro. I encourage anyone who is interested to come in and check it out. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed. If you need assistance with any of the following, please don't hesitate to ask.
