My uncle bought this truck new in 1968. In 1972 he changed the front spindles so he could have disc brakes in the front. I bought it from him in 1980, and installed the electric windows around that time. Truck has the original block, heads, and transmission- all numbers correct. It burns oil- valve guides are spent I'm sure- but runs strong and doesn't visibly smoke. Rare big block 396 with 4-speed transmission. AC worked great up til the end of summer (has been converted to the friendly stuff). I hadn't charged the AC in at least 12 years, so the leak is a slow one! Has a late model MSD style ignition. ZERO miles on new tires. I put some off-road tires on my new MBZ Sprinter, and the pickup was the recipient of some very nice tires. Paint flaking on the hood, and a couple very small dents. NO BONDO in this truck. Has never been hit, and never been in an accident. Doors repainted after I filled the holes from some gargantuan mirrors- very bad paint match. I hate the new mirrors too- should have gone with some small ones. NO RUST. This truck has always lived in southern CA, and has been either garaged or parked under a car port all its life. Original license plates. I have original hubcaps, but the 16.5 original rims are long gone. I have the original owner's manual, maintenance plate, and the original bill of sale.
