Description of 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle |
1969 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE Here is a great opportunity to invest in an extremely rare 1969 Chevelle. This is a TRUE Super Sport, documented by the paint code (76) Daytona Yellow. This code is one of only two paint codes that were used only on the Super Sport cars. The other color was code (72) Monaco Orange. There were roughly 503,000 Chevelles made in 1969, only 86,307 which were super sports. Of the 86,307 super sports made, only 2,841 were produce in the Daytona Yellow. This is the rarest of all colors on the 1969 Chevelle. There were more Chevelles sold in primer than there were in the Daytona Yellow color. This is an estimation of only 3% of the Chevelles made with this paint code. This paint code made it a unique car in 1969 when it came off of the assembly line, but to have one with this paint code now makes it a rare find! This Chevelle in its current condition is a nice driver quality car. It was restored roughly 18 years ago and has been stored inside since completion. The engine is a 396 CE warranty replacement engine with power steering and power disc brakes. The transmission is a three speed automatic. The 12 bolt rear axle is positive traction with a good road gear (my guess is 3:31). This car is a lot of fun to drive and still turns heads when spotted on the road. The paint is really nice but not perfect as there are some minor chips and imperfections. With a paint color so rare, the real value would nearly double if it had a respray to correct the color codes to match the original trim tag (76). Therefore, I see this as a project car. The body is solid with newer quarters and trunk pans. If you chose to leave the Chevelle in the current color, please note that there is a small blister in the lower aspect of the door on the passengers side. The chrome and trim are very presentable and look good on the car. The interior of this Chevelle is in great shape as well. The dash is in nice shape. The Chevelle is equipped with the factory tachometer and gauge cluster. The factory bucket seats are in great condition with a very nice console/ horseshoe shifter. The factory seat belts also remain intact. Thank you for your interest in this rare find!
