This auction is for a 1963 chevrolet rampside pickup. The best part of this truck is that it starts up every time and drives good on the highway. The engine runs nice and smooth and has absolutely no oil leaks on the ground ( recently installed a new starter, generator and two new carburetors ). The transmission is a 3 speed manual and it shifts very good. No slop in the linkage. The steering is very solid and the brakes work very well ( new master cyl ). Mechanically this pickup is in good condition considering it is 54 yrs old. The headlights work -- the tail lights need new bulbs ( i do not have the right size ) -- the turn signals do not work -- the wipers work -- the heater works and blows hot air when turned on -- the dash lights do not work -- the horn works -- the seat has an aftermarket seat cover which is covering a badly worn original seat that needs to be upholstered -- all the glass is in very good condition ( no stone chips or cracks or discoloring ) the speedometer shows 95790 and does not work-- doors open and close solidly -- the radio does not work and is the only item on the truck that is not part of the original equipment -- The tires have a fair amount of tread and hold air however they are very old and should be replaced. the body is mostly all original and has had some shoddy dent repair done -- the truck still has a dent in the rear tailgate and a scratch in the passenger side rear fender ( easy fix ) -- the paint is mostly all original except for some touch up spots all around the body and the bumpers repainted the original white -- the passenger floorboard has a piece of metal covering a rust spot -- there were some other small rust repairs done in the past -- as far as the body goes if you like the original patina look go for it and drive it like it is -- in the real world this truck definitely needs some of the body work smoothed out and a real good paint job PLEASE LOOK THE PICTURES OVER AND OVER TO BE SURE THIS IS A VEHICLE THAT YOU WANT TO OWN -- JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THE RESERVE IS SET VERY LOW FOR THIS AUCTION SO DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT A SERIOUS BUYER.
