1983 El Camino 388 sbc, nitrous, TH400, 9" fab9, nitrous Up for sale is a 1983 Chevrolet El Camino 28.5" tire turnkey, street/strip car. Car is in excellent condition and perfect working order. All necessary safety gear equipped, and has passed tech at every track it's ever been to. Ready for the strip, shows, or if you added some mufflers and exhaust, the street as well. Been sitting in the garage for over two years now without being to the track, and time to let it go to a new home. Since its build in 2012/13 it has always been garaged, and always on a battery tender. Car is currently in Portland, OR. It is setup for 1/8th mile, but has plenty of gear left (4.10's) so the ¼ mile won't be a problem. Car has been down the 1/8th on the bottle in 5.92 @ 121 mph, 1.27 60' foot braking it. Runs 6.30's off the bottle. Hooks hard and launches straight with between 10.5 and 11 pounds of rear tire pressure. a 388 sbc 13.5:1 compression, and runs on 110 octane or above. I have always used 112, and brad penn 10w30 green oil. Machined and assembled by Charlies Speed and Machine in Blair, NE. Engine dyno'd at Charlies at 620hp using 112 octane, and have dyno sheets, along with all receipts for the entire project. Dart Little M 350 4 bolt mains block with billet main cap upgrade. Eagle ESP 4340 crankshaft, 3.75" stroke. Rods are Eagle ESP 4340 6" with L19 bolt upgrade, and upgraded wrist pins. JE Nitrous Dome pistons, and JE pro seal nitrous series rings. Camshaft is a comp camps custom grind nitrous camshaft with .696/.704 lift...full cam specs, and cam card will be supplied to the buyer. Isky redline roller lifters with EZ-roll upgrade. T&D 1.6 shaft rockers with spring oiler upgrade. Schonfeld 1 7/8" to 3 ½" collecters for headers, with 3 ½" turndowns. Carb is by C&S specialties...dominator style 1000cfm aerosol billet...arguably the best carb on the market. http://www.candsspecialties.com Nitrous kit is by ZEX and is the 300 shot dominator kit, custom jetted on a chassis dyno to add 350hp. Heads are Brodix Track 1's, and manifold is a brodix HV1000 custom fitted for a dominator. Heads and intake are port matched, and both ported/polished stage 2 by Stiegemeier Porting Services in St. Charles, MO. http://stiegemeier.com/ Ignition is full MSD. MSD crank trigger, crank trigger distributer, HVC2 coil, and Programmable digital 7plus ignition. Comp Cams Pro sbc belt drive timing set. ATI super damper, C&S specialties vacuum pump. 15 gallon fuel cell with gauge sending unit in the bed, BG 280 electric fuel pump, and BG fuel filter. Braided lines, and AN fittings on all connections throughout the vehicle. CSR billet electric water pump. Have receipts totaling over 25K for motor alone. Motor was built with two stage nitrous in mind, but never got around to putting the fogger on. Built to handle way more nitrous than the plate that is on there. Transmission is a GM Turbo 400, TCI nitrous stall converter with antibaloon plate...stall is 3,500. B&M trans cooler. Reverse shift pattern B&M Prostick shifter. Crossmember is by PC weld and fab and is a double hump g-body crossmember. Out back is a custom Fab9 rear end housing from Chris Alston's Chassisworks and powdercoated silver. Strange S/S 31 spline axles with Timkin axle bearings. Adjustable upper control arms, and lower control arms also from chassisworks. TRZ motorsports anti-rollbar kit. https://trzmotorsports.com Car has a mini-tub/frame notch to preserve stock mounting locations done by Outlaw Chassis in Omaha, NE. Wheels are billet specialties drag lites....15x10 rear, and 15x3.5 fronts. Tires are Mickey Thompson and the slicks have plenty of passes left in them. Up front are TRZ Motorsports tubular upper and lower control arms, QA1 single adjustable coil over shocks, and aerospace components gbody billet 4 piston drag brakes. TRZ manual billet brake booster, and TRZ manual rack and pinion conversion kit for the steering. Paint is House of Colors Orion Silver, and PPG Vibrance Poison Ivy and usually appears green, but when the sun hits it just right, appears blue. Paint has a ding or two but overall is 9.9 out of 10 condition. Washed after every outing, and waxed regularly. Dash was fiberglassed and sanded, and then painted to match the car. Steering wheel is billet specialties with the ring painted poison ivy as well. Full autometer ultralite gauges, except for the tach, which is autometer 5" Cobalt series with shift light. All light bezels, grill, weather stripping, and lights were bought new during the build, and are all original GM NOS (new old stock) parts that were gathered from various gm dealerships around the country. Seats are Kirkey drag seats with Kirkey grey tweed covers. 5 point G-force camlock safety harnesses on both. 10 point NHRA certified rollcage installed by Outlaw Chassis in Omaha, NE is painted poison ivy as well.
