Description of 1958 Chevrolet Other Pickups Deluxe |
Rare 1958 Chevrolet 3100 Big Window Apache Truck Clean Texas title in my name. For sell ONLY because I looking to move, no longer have room to keep the car indoors, and don't have time to finish project. It pains me to sell this bucket list truck because it took several years to find. Background I bought this project truck because I could not find a big window with the paint and interior I liked. I purchased truck from individual in North Fort Worth about 8 years back. Truck was sitting out in field for a few years (see picture with white wheels (no included). Determined it had a bad carburetor. Replaced it and got the truck running with original 283 SBC. Drove it for a few weeks and decided to build an Old school style resto-mod from ground up with modern engine (5.3L), transmission (4L60E), suspension, etc. Unfortuantely other projects have taken more time, work was busy, and life events happened preventing completion of this project. Condition Overview Truck is a "roller". Truck is complete except for engine, transmission, and drive shaft. Removed and sold the original 283 SBC and 4 speed manual. I have a used GM 5.3L engine and 4L60E Tranmission that I was planning to install. Not included because buyer may want a different engine setup. Truck is an good sheet metal condition. Not accidents nor major dents. Previous owner replaced door steps with diamond plate. Very sturdy. Rust is in the usual common spots like cab and door corner pockets. I bought all the new sheet metal to replace these common rust spots for these trucks. I replaced the driver lower fender/door hinge pocket sheet metal. I started replacing the other rust areas with new sheet metal but did not finish. Frame is straight and was sand blasted and painted. Under-side is very clean. No grease or dirt. Glass is good shape My friend (who did a frame off restoration of his 1955 Apache) helped me install an 1978 Camaro front clip suspension. Also includes the 10 bolt rear-end (3.73) from same donor Camaro. I reinstalled the rear-end under the leaf spring to see how it would look low in the rear and see how much I would need to lower the front. You easily flip back to original height. Truck had been several pieces under my side car port and just recently put together as a roller for transport to my friends shop (for storage and sale). Over the years I bought all the replacement parts needed to restore vehicle. Probably have $1500 in new parts. I have over 4 tubs of new and used parts (not shown) that is included. I have kept and organized every part, nut, bolt, and washer. New wiring harness (bought and install a few years back). New windows regulatorsNew Frame Fuel Tank, sending unit (in box)All new weatherstripping/seals (in box) 1978 Gen2 Camaro Front Clip1978 Gen2 Camaro 10 bolt Rear End (3.73)New front steering box, ball joints, tie rods, shocksNewport Windshield Wiper Motor Radiator was professionally cleaned and coredNew CCP Power Brake Booster + Master Cylinder KitNew lower front fender door pocket sheet metalNew rear cab corner sheet metal Perfect start for a custom or classic restoration without the investment of major rust repair. Truck comes as you see it with no warranty. Truck is located in North Fort Worth, TX 76177 if you would like to stop by and inspect it. I maxed out the number pictures I can show here.
