Description of 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS |
Show quality and multiple winning, rust free, stunning paint job, amazing performance, high end parts, wheel dyno tested (838 HP at the WHEELS on a Superflow chassis dyno), easy to drive, 4 bolt, studded, forged, custom comp cams billet solid roller, isky red line lifter, crower stainless shaft mount roller rocker, Airflow research rectangular port aluminum heads, 11.5:1 511 ci stroker big block, professionally built turbo 400 w/trans brake, Mosier complete 12 bolt, 138 vin Chevelle for sale! It's a true SS, but the engine and trans were not numbers matching, so I didn't feel bad about building it this way. It's much higher performance, more fun to drive, and more reliable than GM ever made it anyway. The interior is in super nice condition, yet the pictures don't show the nice charcoal gray upholstered factory front seats which weren't installed for the picture. I'll make attempt to get pictures. It's my baby, ridiculously nice built-by-perfectionist super sport. Selling to pursue an aviation career (and looking to buy a Cessna 172). Along with multiple wins for "best paint, best interior, best engine, best 60's muscle car, best 60's modified, and multiple best of show", it won best of show at a car show hosted by celebrity Courtney Hansen from the original Overhaulin' tv series who was very complimentary of the car. The paint really is stunning. I haven't had one single person say they didn't love it, including many who said they didn't typically like flames. This "true fire" paint looks like you could seriously toast marshmallows over it, it is really that realistic. I have restored and painted many items and classic cars with this technique because people saw my car and "had to have" me paint theirs. I REALLY worked to keep the colors and coverage subtle so as to not over do it. I included the most vibrant photos I could find to show the detail and effect that is had in direct sunlight, however in the shade and cloudy days, it shows/appears much more subtle, almost making you want more. There are many more details of parts and specs used to build, as no expense was spared. I'll also try to get a bunch more details and pictures including undercarriage, especially if asked. The underbody is painted/treated with gloss black por 15. I built it to be a super muscle car, looking fast and actually truly being fast while reliable and bomb proof. Put d.o.t. slicks on it for the look and to get any hope of hooking up. It's fast enough to require a cage in competition, but didn't intend to "race it" since it really is a show car and didn't want to cut it up. But hey, if it looks fast, I wanted to back it up with true performance. It is so easy to drive, I trust letting my wife drive it with the kids.Serious inquiries only. Probably will want to talk details over the phone and arrange looking at it in person. Oh so many details, I'll be writing this all night, have to stop somewhere. When I built it I planned on keeping it forever, but life happens, I need a career change and selling this seems like a way to fund my dream of aviation. If it sells, buyer will need to arrange and pay for transport, but I'll do what I can to make it easy on this end. I've sold a pickup truck and large street cruiser motorcycle on eBay before and it was smooth as silk getting them multiple states away. Non-refundable deposit required through pay pal of $1000 within 48 hours of auction close. |
