Description of 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible 350 V8 Auto Bucket Seats |
Up for sale is my 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible. This is the Chevelle you want to have in your driveway and boy could it tell you stories of how well it has been loved the last 50 years. 50 years, two owners, same family. Purchased new by my Aunt in October of 1968 for an out the door price of $3375 with tons of options including the following. 350cc 255 horsepower engine Rally Wheels Black convertible top Black paint, black top, white leather interior The black exterior and white interior is a rare color combo for Chevelle's and I haven't seen one on eBay in the last 90 days. I have every receipt every spent on this car before and after its 1996 restoration. In 1996 the Chevelle had a frame off restored to the tune of71k. Yes, $71k of professional restoration. I have an itemized bill out from the shop that did the work. No expense was spared. Dual exhaust and disc brakes all the way around were just a few of the upgrades added during 1996 restoration. Additionally, the cylinders were bored out to accommodate for leaded or unleaded gas
The engine was restored in 1996 during the restoration.
The top is a power top and works perfectly and looks amazing. The only day of winter this car has ever seen in almost 50 years was the cool dry day I pulled it out to get pictures. (I assure you my aunt rolled in her grave.) An interesting bit of information is the "SS 396 emblem" on the trunk was an ORIGINAL flaw from the factory (This was verified and published in the Grand Rapid Press in 1996 when my Aunt and the car were featured in the local paper here.) 10-29-68 is its 50th anniversary Although the car was restored, the restoration is 18 years old. Considering that the car is in remarkable shape. But there are a few flaws to discuss. This is some rust on chrome (passenger side, rear window frame) Numbers matching and the VIN number is136679K328475 Small print: I highly recommend you see the car before buying. It speaks for itself. The car is for sale locally so this listing can be removed any time. I am willing to allow test drives but you will need to have $100 bills in hand. If you do not have the cash in hand, I may have you tag along in the passenger seat if you pass the smell test. I can work with a buyer on shipping this car. However, you will be required to pay shipping and the car in advance. I only accept cash or a bank certified check. No personal checks and nothing fishy. I have been around the block a few times. |
