This is my third truck I have built and I have taken great pain to alleviate the issues. Here are some of the issues resolved 1) Original trucks have single cylinder brakes which means if you lose a brake line your truck is out of control. This truck has modern disc brakes with multiple cyclinders. Lose the front brakes, still have back brakes 2) Original trucks have fuel tanks in back of seats in the main cab. If you get in a major accident, you die! This truck has the fuel tank improved, expanded and relocated to the rear of the truck, under the bed 3) Original Trucks are cute but have no power, are hard to find someone to repair, cannot tow anything. This truck has the most common motor in America, can be fixed anywhere cheaply, has plenty of power 4) Original trucks have a really rough ride that women can not ususally tolerate and take a ton to steer or brake. This truck has power steering, power brakes and rides like a car due to the ton of money put into the suspention 5) Original trucks that have been clipped, or frame modified are dangerous because the frame work is almost always bad. I spent $10,000 alone on the frame work at a specialty metal speed shop to ensure strength, stability & safety 6) These trucks come with wooden beds that cannot be used for heavy loads and the wood needs to be replaced every 2-3 years This truck has a reinforced galvanized steel bed hat is attractive and can be used to haul anything 7) These trucks are cute and popular but cannot be used to tow a car or a boat and therefore have limited functionality This truck, with it's 350 engine, 350 tranny, transmission cooler, reinforced frame and welded on tow hitch and can move anything! 8) These trucks leak in the rain. Water comes in the top of the engine cowl where the air intake is and through windows This truck has the cowl air intake welded shut (has A/C) so no leaks and has all new rubber and weather sealing all around ****Only Known Faults**** 1) Windshield Wipers do not work. New Wiper Motor But Missing Under Dash Metal Control Arm 2) Paint is not perfect. Please look closely at the detailed pictures as the dash and the outside are good, but not perfect ****Common Sense Disclosures**** This is a 65 year old truck. It is not a new car and please don't expect a perfect new car. It is perfect for a person who wants a reliable, classy head turner of a truck that is a daily driver and is turn key and safe. You will never leave the house without someone wanting to talk to you and comment of this truck. It is truly 1 of a kind, with all the modern conveniences, but it still is a 65 year old vehicle and anyone purchasing this truck needs to realize that. That being said, I would not hesitate to get into this truck today and drive it from California to Florida, in comfort, and expect no issues. |
