Description of 1971 Chevrolet Blazer CST |
Rare 1971 Hugger Orange K5 CST Blazer. Very solid! Excellent candidate for restoration, or for affordable project/driver. NEED IT SHIPPED? HAPPY TO PUT YOU IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH OUR TRANSPORTER FOR FAST AND WHOLESALE SHIPPING! Highlights:- Original Hugger Orange Paint- CST Optioned- 4 Speed- Rebuilt Motor- New Exhaust- Very Solid Exterior: For the most part this Blazer is very solid compared to most I see. All of the important areas that rot out are solid. There is some rust in what looks to be only the outer rockers and lower rear quarter. The floors and the rear cargo area are about the nicest I have seen. The original paint polished up nice. With a little more polishing you can get rid of the "custom" black paint that someone had done.I was able to remove it with paint thinner and rubbing compound. The aluminum wheels are in great shape and the 33" tires still show a lot of life. There is also matching identical spare wheel with a brand new tire on it.The double wall top has had a quick respray and it looks decent and it is in overall decent shape. However, someone has cut and installed a roof vent at some point of its life. There are also some holes where roof mounts were installed. I have included an image of what this Blazer would have looked like originally with the factory wheels, hubcaps and moulding. Interior: The interior is all there and is in good shape. The front seats are utility buckets with a matching rear bench.Being that it is a CST both the four wheel drive and the transmission sticks are chrome, which is really cool. The gauge cluster is in good shape and everything appears to be working. The dash (radio) is uncut. The door cards, arm rests and even the rear cargo trim panels are all there and in decent shape. Mechanical: It has a 350 with a four speed manual transmission. The previous owner had rebuilt the engine a couple of years ago when they were working on it and said there is only a couple hundred miles on it. Although the owner could not provide a build sheet or specifics, it appears to have been a performance build with a cam, headers, intake and carb. It runs and sounds great with the newer dual exhaust. VIN Decoded:KE181S665595K: 4x4 E: V8 Gas 1: 1/2 Ton 8: Blazer 1: 1971 S: St. Louis Serial:665595 Although it runs and drives, it was sitting for a couple of years so I would suggest that someone spend a weekend to ensure everything is working as it should before considering it as a daily driver.
