This sweet 1960 Impala, equipped with the desirable, triple carb setup, is offered here for your consideration. The name Impala was first introduced in 1958, along with the now famous triple taillights, as a Bel Air trim option. By 1959, Impala had became its own model, but lost those taillights in the process. A redesign for 1960 reclaimed the iconic triple taillights, and added that awesome engine as an option. The result was that 1960 may be the best-looking Impala ever. Especially this one! The orange paint is just perfect with the black grill, black accents on the front fenders, and black taillight surrounds. Even the tires seem to be part of the color scheme. There is also plenty of chrome and polished brightwork which is in excellent condition on this car. The rocket, tipping the white body stripe on the rear fenders, is especially sweet. Then there are those awesome, chrome trimmed, horizontal fins, and the famous triple taillights set in a full width aluminum trim panel just about the rear bumper. There are crossed flag emblems on the grill and trunk, as well as in front of the Impala script on the white body stripe. You don't see windshields that curve around like this one on cars anymore, and you may notice how clean the lines of the car look when the windows are down without a B pillar in the way. Open the door and treat yourself to the orange, leather, and houndstooth interior. Door panels have big ol' armrests and a second window crank for those vent windows. The split bench seat has houndstooth inserts that really look good. A gorgeous three spoke wooden steering wheel with a Chevy horn button sits in front of a stock dash which is orange on top, and has a machine turned metal lower. Gauges sit symmetrically in individual pods, with the speedometer in the center. A trio of aftermarket gauges nicely mounted below the radio keep track of critical engine functions. Impala appears in script within a black accent over a shelf on the passenger side of the dash, and black carpets with an orange headliner complete the picture-perfect interior. Now pop the hood and check out the picture-perfect engine compartment! This well maintained and nicely detailed engine bay contains and awesome powerplant. This motor is a 348-cubic inch, that was offered by Chevrolet this year. It comes with triple two-barrel carbs and a whole lot of eye appeal! This one has been dressed up with chrome air filters on top of those Rochester carbs, a chrome brake booster and master cylinder, and nicely polished valve covers on top of those enormous factory heads. A white-faced pressure gauge on the fuel rail keeps a check on the system to assure that the pump is keeping up with the demands of the engine, and DLG silicone spark plug wires assure a strong spark. The power it makes is sent back through a 2-speed automatic trans to the rear wheels. 225/70R15 tires mounted on five spoke, American Racing wheels all around keep things rolling, and front disc brakes and power steering help keep things under control. Come on down and check out this beautifully done, tri-power Impala. Then maybe make it yours and put a few of your own miles on it.
