Description of 1971 Chevrolet El Camino SS |
Mileage is not correct. This El Camino was a frame off build in the late 70's. It has extensive chrome plating and an amazing Black Laquer paint job which at todays prices would be 25 to 30KThis 71 SS is a former ISCA show car and Super Chevy Magazine cover car in 1984. nbsp;which saw very limited street use after completion. I have known the car and its former owner since 1982. As the pics show this amazing 30 year old black laquer base with Candy scallops. ibbon paint. host flames and amazing detail is still as beautiful as it was the day it was layed down. The only paint checking is some in the ribbon on the tailgate. During the build the body was removed from the frame. the frame was blasted and detailed. ainted and pinstriped to be as nice as the body. somewhere in the time from 1986 and when I located the car in 2010 it had been treated to a Velour interior ( I do not know when or especially WHY). As soon as I bought the car I replaced the seats and door panels with Pro car seats and NPD correct door and kick panels. The blower motor originally in the car had been removed by the owner for use in another project when the El Caminos show days ended. At that time the rolling car was put in dry storage for the next 25 years. Sometime in that 25 year period the car was moved from Ft Lauderdale to central Florida where the car reappeared with a newly built 355. urbo 400 with reverse manual valve body and a dummy blower with blower drive. The motor in the car was built by a well known Central Florida drag Racer. The motor. urbo400. nd rear gearset have approx. 400 miles on them. The blower case was gutted and modified to fit over the 650 Holley and still retains the look and sound of a functioning blower. Engine details are . 30 over 4 bolt block fully machined. 86/202 double hump heads. 92H Comp Cam. omp Cams roller rockers. 182 steel crank. ink Rods. 0-1 forged TRW pistons. nd as stated the carb is a 650 Holley. The Turbo 400 Trans has a 3500 converter with a reverse manual valve body. The fully detailed 12 bolt rear currently houses a 3. 42 rear gear. Dash lights currently are not working and the nitrous bottle goes with the car but has never been installed. The Radio and equalizer have been removed and dash block off plates made. This is a great piece of History and is totally streetable. (rear tires are not DOT Approved.
