This 1937 pickup spent 45 years of its life in a dealer showroom. It was traded in for a new truck by it's original owner in 1960. The dealership, Welsh Chevrolet repainted it and displayed it in its show room until 2005 when the dealership was closed. It was then sold at auction and has changed hands 3 times since then. The original 216 engine has 73,400 believed to be original miles on it. It has a 3 speed manual transmission that shifts as it should. The paint is showing its age with some bubbling some scratches and some checking. There is next to no rust on the truck only a little surface rust on the floor pan and bumpers. There are some stress cracks in the metal as shown in the photos. Even the under side shows minimal surface rust. This truck is a true survivor the only items not original to the truck are the tires, wiring (all replaced) and an after market tail light added for safety. The brakes have been redone and new oil gaskets on the motor, oil pan, valve cover, and side cover. The truck runs good for a 81 year old truck you can drive it anywhere. Every thing on the truck works except the wiper and the fog lights (they are not hooked up) I added the fog lights but never wired them. I have the old bias ply tires that will go with the truck I put on radials for a better ride. Still has the original artillery style 6 lug wheels with after market hub caps, the original hub caps will go with the truck as well. I do not know if the wood in the bed is original if it is it is in great shape for its age. This is a numbers matching original truck . The windshield has a crack on the drivers side as shown in photo. All windows open and close as they should the drivers window track is a bit loose though. Front windshield cranks open and cowl vent opens. The heater works but I do believe it has been replaced. I have the original owners manual as well as a service manual for it.The truck has a radio antenna (after market) but no radio I put on the antenna because the holes were there for it already.
