The LT1 V8 engine. backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission previously used in the Corvette. drives a limited slip rear end. and included as standard equipment was 4-wheel disc brakes. All 645 Indy Pace Cars were finished in a two-tone Black /White paint scheme with multi-colored stripes and special white-painted twin-spoke wheels.
