Description of 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel Air |
Unlike the other "projects" scene on craigslist in this price range. this car currently registered and is periodically driven from time to time. It has a 1974 Camaro 350 cub. inch V-8 engine and a turbo 350 automatic transmission with a floor shifter and runs very well. The manual brakes had all new brake cylinders installed on Jan 18th. and the brake shoes have plenty on padding left. The cooling system functions very well and is regularly driven 40 - 50 miles from home with no over heating problems. The body is very straight and shows no evidence of previous collision damage or major body work. The body has very minor surface rust due to the removal of paint. The interior has recently been re-upholstered with burgundy/dark red velour seats and carpet and a painted dash and interior trim to match. The floor pan is solid with no cancer or dry rot. The electrical system works well and functions using an updated alternator system instead of the old original generator system. The car also has all the exterior chrome and trim pieces which are in very good condition and can be re-installed after a hand full of pieces receive some very minor dent removal and polishing. The steel rally wheels and tires are from a 1974 Camaro and the steering system is the original manual steering. This is an excellent car with a good starting point for a continuing restoration or rat rod. Nine 5 One Two 1 Three 9 Six 9 Seven |
