Description of 1970 Chevrolet Corvette 2-Door Coupe |
You are bidding on a stunning, 1970 BIG BLOCK Corvette. Numbers matching! The 1970 Corvettes are considered the most desirable C3 because only 17,316 were made (compared to almost 200,000 mustangs). The lowest production number since 1962. This car has an LS/5 454 V8 with almost 400 HP and 500 ft.lbs of torque! Rebuilt approx 5000 miles ago by prior owner. Power steering, Auto transmission, power brakes, power windows, factory A/C (needs charging). Mechanically, the car is in superb condition. Rebuilt carb, new radiator, water pump, power steering pump, power steering hydraulics, fan, fan clutch, upper and lower control arm bushings, trailing arms, and mufflers. Vacuum leak fixed. It even has the original ignition points system! THE LOOK: This is the classic of all muscle cars, the one that stops all conversation. It is in beautiful condition -- an eye-catching machine. It's the one you've always wanted.... If you're getting a car this exciting, why get it in a dull, boring color? This factory-color is a dazzling Daytona Yellow (984). It's the color of the sun, which makes sense because that 454 can light the earth on fire. The existing clear coat was laboriously color-sanded in a six-step process to an exquisite shine. It is truly beautiful. As with any half-century old car, the body has some minor imperfections. Contact me with questions. Removable T-Tops for a beautiful driving experience. THE SOUND: When you turn the key, most cars just quietly switch on. This beast roars to life. It announces to the world that its woken up. At idle, it sounds like Godzilla is purring. And upon acceleration, it sounds like a dragster on steroids. Check out this video and listen to the actual car for yourself (enlarged picture and sound on high). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYUz-m-hjMA THE FEEL: The car is a thrill-ride. When you send 400 hp and 500 ft/lb of torque to the rear wheels, the acceleration is neck-snapping. Most common response from passengers is "Wow, I've never been in such a powerful car." THE INVESTMENT: This is a stunning -- and ORIGINAL -- collector car. It does what an investment is supposed to do -- it goes up in value. The value of this car climbed over the years and will continue to climb. Corvette prices climb every year, so get this one while you still can. The price I've listed is $34,000, which is less than the current valuation. But I'm a motivated seller so, please, make me an offer. The car has been in my collection for about 18 years, during which I've put on about 100 miles per year. Just enough to keep it limbered up. The current odometer is about 81,000 (approx) which is correct to the best of my knowledge, though car looks like it has much less. The prior owner said he rebuilt the engine about 5000 miles ago. It runs like a top because I keep it maintained in fine condition. It is always stored indoors under a car cover. Working condition at this time: Power windows, wipers, headlamps (and vacuum pop ups), tail lamps, signal lamps, speedo, tach and all other instruments (except clock). Original radio is in it too. Heating and cooling vents and flaps work. But blower motor and factory AC system is inoperative (needs a charge?). All manuals are included. Driver's manual, factory manuals, third party manuals, laminated wiring diagrams. TERMS: This car is sold as is. It is not represented as perfect. As with all used cars, even one this well-cared for has imperfections. Please email me with any questions. I welcome requests for more information -- or more pictures if you need them. Again, if you are not sure about something, please ask! Do not assume anything not listed is included. Winning bidder must contact me within 48 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A nonrefundable $500.00 deposit is due immediately. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end. All payments If no contact is made within 48 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. Please arrange financing prior to bidding. DELIVERY: Buyers responsibility. I reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to eBay, and negative feedback will be posted. PLEASE ONLY BID WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY. IF THE RESERVE IS NOT MET, WE MAY CONTACT THE HIGH BIDDER TO OFFER THE SECOND CHANCE OPTION. |
