Extremely rare, matching numbers, 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS convertible. I'm the third owner of this car. The second owner bought it in 1978 and used it as a daily driver at his second home in southern California. He told me that the original owner was a dealership owner's wife. It comes loaded with original factory power windows and top (first available in 1964), factory dash bullet clock, updated A/C, and is factory Evening Orchid which was only available from GM in 1965. It also has the original matching numbers factory upgraded 300 HP 327. The original powerglide transmission was replaced with a turbo 350 transmission but the car comes with the original powerglide case. The second owner had the exterior painted in 1986 due to the lacquer fading through but the door jams and under the hood and trunk are still the original Evening Orchid paint. It has NEVER been hit or dented, only parking lot dings that were fixed in 1986. Now it shows a few dings and paint chips as shown in the pictures. It still has the original chrome bumpers and original grill with the original rivets that you never see. There may be one or two small bubbles in the lower part of the car but very small and literally untouched since 1986. This is a dry climate car that has always been garaged which is evident from its condition. It also comes with the original jack, original SS hub caps, original AFB carb that Edelbrock rebuilt (replaced by Edelbrock 600 cfm), and original distributor that was replaced by an MSD. I had the original 327 professionally rebuilt about a year ago by Spokane Engine and professionally installed which Spokane Engine warranteed for 3 years or 30,000 miles. It still has the original and rare duel snorkel 300 HP air cleaner that came on it and the original valve covers that the second owner had chromed in the '80s. It sounds great with tons of power and drives smooth, reliably, and straight down the highway with no hands on the wheel. I put air shocks on it to be able to adjust its stance. The factory power windows work but the two rear windows only work from the driver's 4-switch controls so I think it could use a little re-wiring. The factory bullet dash clock works but stops from time to time. This car even still has the original soft ray tinted glass, original convertible top boot (black), original black California license plate, and the original books and protecto plate which goes with the car. I have a clear Montana title in my name so there's no BS paperwork. Why am I selling it? Montana's driving season is too short to own this car and I work the fire season all summer anyway. A car this rare deserves someone who knows how to prep it and take it somewhere like Barrett Jackson. The car is located near I-90 for pick up, there are quite a few good shipping companies that come through Missoula. I'd also be willing to work out personally delivering the car for a delivery charge. I've bought and sold a few cars over the years on Ebay and never had an issue until last fall when I tried selling this car and the winning bid ended up being a "hacked account" so please, serious bidders only. Thanks for looking.
