To translate that to real-world language… IT IS VERY, VERY, FAST. 1962 Chevy II Supernova - YouTube Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] It runs cool thanks to a double-bypass aluminum radiator with twin electric fans and a custom diamond plate shroud. The car gets all that power to the ground thanks to a BRAND NEW transmission courtesy of the crew at JW Performance Transmission in Rockledge. It is a PG Competition Ultra-Glide Transmission with the stock case cut to accommodate the ULTRA-BELL, a steel input shaft with turbo spline and rings and 1.76 ratio, and a 10” 3800 stall converter with banded stator. The transmission sends the power down the 4” custom-fabricated and balanced driveshaft to the BRAND NEW Moser DANA 60 rear end stuffed with 4.11 gears, 40 spline axles, EDS bearings, seals, heavy-duty retainer plates, new housing ends, t-bolt kit, differential, pinion yoke, ring and pinion, rear cover, Timken bearings, and custom ordered 5/8” rear studs. Some pics from lift show it before, then after, the new sub-frame connectors were installed. Cal-Trac’s and all new suspension components from the bushings to springs and shocks keep everything pointed in the right direction when the car hooks up, and you better be paying attention when it does! This car hooks up easily, thanks to those Cal-Trac’s letting the massive Mickey Thompson P235/60R15 ET Street Radials get a grip on the asphalt in the rear of car. Up front, Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R’s sized 24X5.00R15LT get you going in whatever direction the wheel is pointed. Tires are all in damage and issue free condition with plenty of tread left for shenanigans and cruising before you need to worry about replacing them. The rubber is wrapped around Weld Racing MAGNUM rims with custom colored inserts. The rims are in good condition, and show light minor marks from being removed for vehicle maintenance and servicing. Front brakes are Performance Series DISC with red calipers and slotted and drilled rotors, while the backs are new newly refurbished racing drums in matte silver with the aforementioned 5/8” studs. They work in perfect harmony to drag this beast down from speed without excessive fade, modulation, or pulling. Underside of the car is clean, solid, and straight metal, and there are no signs of any rotted or damaged areas underneath the car as you can see in the 100 extra-large photos I have provided. Working our way to the inside of the car, and you will see a fully finished and clean interior that you can be happy in during a cruise night! This is not the typical “back-yard build” car with sheets of stainless haphazardly riveted in to make an interior. Nope. This car has real door panels, kick panels, rear panels, sail panels, a headliner, and visors! The best part is, they all look good too! Seats are also in good condition, and have no signs of damage or issues. The driver seat gets a RCI lap belt that can easily be upgraded to a 3-point racing harness by ordering a few extra parts. Driver seat has adjustable rail for fore and aft adjustment. Passenger seat and all three rear seat spots have factory lap belts in place. Carpeting is on good shape, and has only light marks and dirt on it that will easily clean-up when you take the time to detail the car. Floor mats are getting a bit old, but a new set won’t break your budget! Dash is stock, clean, and neat, with a radio delete plate affixed with a Chevy logo, and factory switchgear for the headlamps, wipers, heater, and fan. The headlamps work, foot controlled high beam works, wipers work, parking lamps work, and turn signals front and rear work. The heater is not functional, nor is the fan, as they have been bypassed. Wiper arms are included and the wipers ARE functional. The car currently has billet caps on the wiper heads because it simply looks better. Glove box opens to reveal the cleanly installed BSD box and other goodies. The factory speedo is complimented by an AutoGAGE by AutoMETER tachometer with shift light, and under the dash lies a cleanly mounted tri-pack of OIL, WATER, and VOLT gauges which are matching SportComp by AutoMETER. Under the hood up front, a matching boost gauge and fuel pressure gauge reside. All of the gauges appear to be calibrated and working as they should. A GRANT GT wheel sits atop the factory column, and makes steering this machine a breeze. All of the windows roll up and down easily, and the glass in good condition all around with no cracks or chips evident. The window tinting could stand to be redone on a couple of the panels, but I will leave that up to the new owner to decide. The trim and bright work is in good condition all around the car, and I am sure a little bit of polish and elbow grease can make it look even better! Open the trunk, and you see a solid, finished floor with a race approved fuel cell, stainless battery box with outside shut-off switch, and cleanly run wiring and lines for each. The floor is solid and straight, and you can see the quality of the welds used to secure the roll cage out back as well. Flat black paint looks killer on the car, and hides the little scuffs, stone chips, and minor blemishes well. It breaks more necks pulling into a show than any glossy car though, and still shines up a bit with some quick-shine spray. The 6 cylinder badges up front were left in place for a laugh, and the SS badging on the back of the car looks great, but is not real to this machine. If you are looking for a car that can take you on a long cruise and STILL have the guts to pull high single-digit quarters when it gets you there, this is the right car. It is easy to handle at 65 mph, and tach’s at roughly 3,550rpm at that speed. All you need to do is stomp on the gas to launch it forward at any speed. It was used in a clothing line photo shoot, and is the star of its own video shown above. Drag Week, cruise night, long-haul, or short trip… this is the right car for the job. The vehicle is located in our Fort Myers, FL warehouse, and is just 20 minutes away from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) if you want to fly in and see it. I welcome outside inspection services BEFORE YOU BUY OR BID. ***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH WORLDWIDE VEHICLE SHIPPING- CALL ME!***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH QUICK AND EASY FINANCING- CALL ME!***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE IN EXPORTING IT OVERSEAS-CALL ME! |
