These cars were everywhere back in the day. They were often the family car and for many people it was their first car. It was driven to prom by the kids and piled full of people for trips to the mountains or the beach. This third generation Nova incorporated the front subframe construction method introduced on the Camaro and received a redesigned body that still looks modern and stylish today. Check out this well-preserved coupe and see if it brings... back any memories. This car is looking good in a fresh coat of Astro Blue, which is the color it was delivered in from the factory. Its new smooth lines and clean look start at the front with a black grill outlined with delicate chrome piping and polished brightwork and underlined by a sharp looking chrome bumper. The front fenders curve up from the grill then head straight back. The rear fenders flow up a bit to meet the roof line which flows down over the rear window and trunk to meet it, giving it a fastback look. Straight black body side molding underlines and accentuates those curves, and a simple, clean trim panel between the taillights is underlined by another shiny chrome bumper. The car sits on Firestone Wide Oval tires mounted on Magnum wheels with chrome trim rings with crossed racing flag centers while Chevrolet and Nova badging appears on the hood and trunk. Open the door and you will find a medium blue interior that is in good condition for its age with some normal wear. Again, these were the cars used every day by the family and taken to the prom and beach by the kids. If this car could talk, it would probably tell you some interesting stories. There is a bench seat that allows a passenger to slide over next to the driver that the kids probably appreciated, although with a stick shift for the 4-speed trans in the way, it might have been only while they were "talking" before getting out of the car. The seat backs fold forward so you can pile people or groceries in the back, although there is a good-sized trunk for the groceries or beach chairs and coolers if you prefer. The package tray is decorated with a strip of carpet and a mini Nova replica car. Under the hood you will find a neat and clean engine bay with the tried and true Chevy 250-cubic inch 6-cylinder motor sitting in the middle. It has a glossy black air cleaner with a 250 Turbo Fire decal topping a 2-barrel carburetor while the engine and valve cover look bright and fresh in Chevrolet Orange. There are signs of proper maintenance with a newer power steering pump as well as new belts, hoses, cap, wires and plugs. No drama here, just a reliable engine that starts and runs every time. The subframe construction GM started using on this car used rubber bushings to isolate vibration nicely and along with coil springs in the front and leaf springs in the back, give this car a nice ride. If this car brings back memories, or if you are looking for good looking, reliable car, then come on down and check out this Nova. It might be just what you are looking for.
