Looking great and driving strong, this 1954 Chevrolet 3100 is one clean, good looking and tastefully modded vintage truck. It's logged fewer than 10,000 miles since its build, where it received some well-chosen components to up its driving experience and make this eye-catching truck perfectly suitable for as much driving as you'll desire. With most of the trim and badging normally found on its sides no longer in the picture, this Chevy carries an uninterrupted expanse of yellow paint on... its curvaceous form, including its front bumper and prominent grille. Getting a good finished result when applying paint over a chrome surface requires some diligent prep work, and that diligence can also easily be seen in the quality of the finish over the entire body of the truck - it's got a smoothness and consistency that only comes with a lot of sanding and finish work. The intricate pinstriping on its nose and tailgate is a great touch - it's got a minimalist look to it, but with plenty going on visually to draw you in. Look closely at the alignment of the hood and doors and you'll see nice even gaps that provide further evidence of accuracy during their assembly. The tinted glass on all four sides is in great shape and surrounded by fresh-looking seals, and the step plates on both the driver and passenger side provide a finished look, as well as some nice contrast. The black vinyl upholstery inside pairs well with the yellow found on the dash and balance of the cabin. The bench seat features a great tuck and roll surface that's very era-appropriate for a truck like this. Climb inside and you'll find a Grant GT steering wheel in front of you and a B&M shifter elevated to a perfect height off to the right. Just in front, the dash area reflects the same exacting workmanship as the exterior, resulting in smooth yellow steel that's ornamented by some precise pinstriping of its own, surrounding an instrument cluster that houses a set of white-faced Dolphin gauges. A SunPro tach has been mounted on the steering column to monitor your revs during more spirited driving. The bed area in back features straight and flush steel ribbing, but we do feel that the wood planks sitting between them would benefit from some finish sanding and varnish. The 350 cubic inch V8 topped with a 4-barrel Edelbrock carb sitting under the hood is the foundation for this very street ready truck. It fires right up, runs very smoothly and sounds great as it sings through its headers that lead out to a FlowMaster exhaust. The powerplant bolts to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that's shifting at the top of its game. You'll find a Heidts front end sitting in place of the original, affording this 3100 the added benefits of coilover shocks, power front disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering that's a quantum leap forward from the steering box it started out with. These upgrades combine with new front shocks to make for a great experience behind the wheel. This fine looking vintage Chevy sits with an aggressive inclined stance on a set of 15" Ridler wheels that are outfitted with GT Radial performance tires. If you're looking to get behind the wheel of a vintage truck that features a rock solid running condition to go along with its undeniable curb appeal, you need to see this 1954 Chevrolet 3100 pickup.
