Description of 1941 Chevrolet Other Pickups |
What a potential for Advertising a Business--- Fuel Stations, Military Themed, Truck Equipment,Soda or Beer Distributor, the possibilities are endless and it would be TAX deductable!!! The history of this truck: It was originally delivered to Ft Chaffee, Arkansas( right outside Ft Smith),many years later it was sold to a local retired man in the area-- his plans were to restore it, he started the work and had stripped all the exterior paint and restored the frame and stake bed.. Then age and health stopped the process and he sold it to us. When it was acquired by us it was in his work shop in very nice condition.. We immediately had a local body shop finish the exterior paint. There was no panel replacement, just small ding, dent repairs, prime and paint. That was late 2014, since that time it has been in storage until Sept. of 2017. Out of storage we were planning to finish it up with a Lion Oil Service Station Theme. However the unexpected death of my helper has postponed my ability to finish it in a timely manner with all the other projects I have going at the moment, it will be months before I will have time to get back on it. Therefore it's time to pass it on to someone else. I will try my best to fill in all the questions one may have. Mechanically it seems to be fine, it starts with a jump and prime of gas, and shifts thru the gears as it should. It will need a new battery and a fresh tune up won't hurt anything. We had the brakes gone thru in 14 and I believe they are still ok. The PTO works fine. The last time I drove it around the block wasback in Sept. of 2017.The things it will need are: Reinstall the windshield with a new seal. Replace the drivers door glass, it has a crack in it. The other glass and back window are fine. The grill and headlight bezels and fender trim will need to be polished or replated then reinstalled. The bumper needs to be refinished, and the wheels also have not been addressed yet, I believe the rear wheels were changed out by the previous owner but may have been changed at Chaffee. Not sure when that was done. And of course it will need tires. They hold air but are very very old. The wood stake bed is in good shape other than it could use a light sand and stain again. The paint only needs to be polished out, there is not any need for more paint work other than the door jambs. The under side is solid and clean will only need a finish detailing. The interior primarily just needs to be stripped down, cleaned and polished and/or refinished. The seat is in good shape, and the dash trim is all there. I am not sure how accurate the speedo is now, it may need a new cable and lube. This is a very good solid old truck that does have lots of potential.. I am listing with no reserve but also have it posted on some local sights, so therefore I reserve the right to cancel this auction if an acceptable offer is made here before the auction end. Thank you, any questions will be answered as soon as possible. |
