Description of 1972 Chevrolet Nova

For auction is a 1972 Chevrolet Nova with the Rally package. Car needs a total restoration. but is a very good and complete car for a start. I bought the car to restore last year. so I don't know much about the history. etc. Engine is not numbers matching. not sure about the standard 3 speed trans or rear axle. Non-posi 8. 5 ten bolt. I was told it has 4. 10 gears. but I haven't verified. Car runs and drives. but is barely street worthy as the carb needs to be rebuilt. Runs well enough to load on a trailer. Not sure of the history of the car. engine. or transmission. but it does have an Edelbrock carb and points-less ignition under the distributor cap. All signs point to it being an authentic Rally Nova. No Nova emblem on the fenders. chrome drip moldings. left hand sport mirror. painted grille and headlight bezels. and (luckily) a tiny remnant of the side stripe left on the inside of the door when they repainted it (see picture). From all appearances. this has only one repaint. The original Mohave Gold shows through in several spots. The Bad: This car has quite a bit of rust. Quarters need replacement as well as parts of the outer wheelhouses and trunk drop downs. Doors and fenders will need some rust patching. Floors have minimal rust (repares will need to be made on the toeboards of the floor and up by the spare tire mount in the trunk. There is a lot of surface rust on the floors and undercarriage. but should be cleaned up with sanding or blasting. I'm not sure if there will be pitting in some places or not. Sadly. this car has an aftermarket sunroof (if you are one of the many who thought this was a great idea in the seventies. you're an idiot). I have a donor roof skin from another Nova that I can strap to the roof for transport. It's not perfect. but it will work fine. Also. front buckets aren't original and the interior will need a complete restoration. Heater core leaks. Missing front seat belts. rears are under the seat. Exhaust system is complete from manifolds back through the glass packs and out the tailpipes. I will add other info if I remember anything else. Email with any questions. You are responsible for transport. but I will help load. Must be picked up within one month. Payment must be made in full within one week. NO EXCEPTIONS. Cash or cashiers check only. I will not release title until payment has been verified. If you come pick it up in person and pay in cash. I will throw in a set of quarter skins for free. I do have clear title in my name.
