This 1964 C-10 LWB 2wd pickup underwent a complete body-off-frame restoration just a few years ago, and has just over 3,000 miles since complete. Rescued from salt-free Montana, where it was in monthly use for decades as "Sunday go to town" truck, it was quickly loaded up and transferred to its Florida owner, and the almost two-year restoration process was started. Body, bed, powertrain, and all suspension components were removed from the frame, and the frame was then completely stripped of all hardware and media-blasted down to bare metal prior to being refinished in a clean shiny black finish that is ready for show mirrors. Original rear-end was stripped, cleaned, painted, and reassembled with new internals, and all the brakes at each corner were completely stripped and rebuilt as well. Front end was stripped, and totally rebuilt with either all-new OEM components, or completely refurbished originals. While the original 230cid inline 6 and rare 4-speed transmission were out of the truck, they were sent out to be completely disassembled and rebuilt from the block out on the motor, and case in on the transmission. All stock components were used, and the finished items were then carefully installed into the newly refurbished frame. With the rolling chassis complete, attention was focused on the dry, rust-free Montana body. It was media-blasted all around, and NO rust, rot, or issues were found in the process. All of the door internals were removed, and fit with OEM replacements including hinges, springs, regulators, and the like. All new glass was installed throughout the truck, as well as all new rubber seals, weather stripping, hinges, hinge plates, door pulls, door handles, and window rollers. Fit and finish and gaps are about as good as they get on a 60's truck, and there are no signs of any wear areas to indicate misalignment or improper hanging of any panels either. The body was carefully prepped and blocked and professionally sprayed in beautiful A-1686 Turquoise Iridescent factory finish. The paint is in exceptional condition, with perhaps 3-5 extremely small marks like a stone chip or other blemish to show on the entire vehicle. A magnet taken to the truck reveals that the body is all genuine Chevy steel, and there are NO signs of any rot, rust, patch panels, beer can metal, chicken wire, or anything else to be found on the truck. It is perhaps one of the finest C-10 truck bodies you could find, and is exceptionally straight and clean. Rain gutters are original, and in PERFECT condition. All of the rubber and weather strip on the truck is new, and extremely soft and pliable. The glass on the truck is in exceptional condition all the way around, with NO laminate issues, NO cracking, and only one very tiny chip in the windshield that's been unchanged for a year. I highlighted the mark in photos below. New window regulators, fuzzies, trim, and vent handles make sure everything works smoothly. Door handles inside and out, and the window rollers are all like new. Painted front and rear bumpers are in great condition. All of the lights on the outside of the truck work as they should, and are in excellent condition appearance-wise as well. Headlights work. High beams work. Marker lights work. Turn signals work. License plate light works. Any bright work and trim on the truck shows exceptionally well. Side emblems are in great condition, but the red finish on each would require refinishing to make it perfect again. Outside painted mirror is in fantastic condition. Stock steel wheels are painted, and show wonderfully with the Chevy logo center caps. Tires are period appearing radials that ride smoothly, and handle much better than their original bias-ply counter-parts. Bed wood is in fantastic condition, and was sanded, varnished, and then sealed before installation to make sure it stays that way. All of the bed straps are new, as is the hardware. Inside of the bed shows perfectly, and I can't really even see any marks to mention on the bed interior. Tail gate works perfectly, and is incredibly solid and clean. Chains and covers are in great shape too, with the hooks showing some scratch marks from being used. Inside, the interior is in amazing shape too. A brand new OEM floor mat was installed over heat and soundproofing material. A new fuel tank, sending unit, and hard lines were installed. A completely new seat was installed, with new cover and seat belts. The original gauge cluster was removed and sent for restoration. It looks like new, and everything works from the lights to the gauges! Fan system is in perfect operating order and provides outside air or hot air depending on the settings. An aftermarket Classic Sound radio was installed in the factory holes to provide AM/FM/digital tuner and USB/iPhone accessibility, AND the original factory radio is included too!!!! Ashtray works as it should, as does the lined glovebox. Functional dual sun visors work like they should, as does the chrome rear view mirror. Outside air vent grilles show like new, and function perfectly. Pedals all show like new with fresh rubber pads, and the E-Brake works perfectly to stop the truck from moving when parked. Steering column shows wonderfully, with like new turn signal stalk. Steering wheel is original, and has a small crack in the top outer ring, and cracks on each side of the center. I have detailed all three in the photos below, and they do not appear to affect the functionality of the wheel. Chassis on the truck is clean, neat, and stock. Essentially every item was replaced during the restoration, and it all shows and works wonderfully. Brakes were completely redone, and balanced and proportioned to stop the truck easily without any pulling, grabbing, or excessive modulation. Steering system, and all related components, were completely redone, and it drives and handles exceptionally well without any excessive slop or play, and a confidence inspiring manner on the highway. All new body mounts were installed, and still show wonderfully. All new suspension bits throughout combine with new springs and shocks to provide a smooth, comfortable ride without any odd wallow or diving. Exhaust is clean and solid, and has a mellow note just like factory stock. There is NO rust, NO rot, NO damage, and NO known issue with any part of the chassis/undercarriage, and if you took the time to power wash underneath, you could proudly display it over mirrors at any show. It has been raining here in Florida, so I had to drive through some puddles that threw up dirt on the undercarriage. The engine bay is clean, neat, well-sorted, and shows great! The only real sign of use is the manifold, where the paint shows it has actually been driven, not just parked, for about 3,000 miles. The block, carb, air cleaner, and other assorted parts are all clean and presentable, and a quick engine detail when you get it home would make it shine like the trailer queens you see at some shows. The motor was completely redone from the original bare block out, and it does not leak, weep, or drip any fluids. It starts easily, has a functional choke, and idles smoothly. Snick the original 4-speed into gear, and the clutch lets you move forward with perfect take-up, no chatter, and a solid engagement. Each gear shifts smoothly and easily, and the truck accelerates and drives extremely well. It is happiest at about 55-60mph, but will go faster, and manages to run perfectly cool even in the hot Florida sun thanks to all new cooling components. Speedo is GPS correct within 1 mph. All of the wiring was redone, and correctly loomed and installed as close to OEM as they could find examples of. There are no known issues with the truck at this time, and I have personally driven it for about 80 miles in town and on the highway without having any issues to address.
