Description of 1963 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel Air |
'63 Chevy Bel Air 4-door sedan (not a hardtop), very similar to an Impala or Biscayne. I've had the car just over 6 years. It's got around 64k miles, which judging by the condition are likely original. It appears to have the original 230 L6 and 2-speed powerglide, but I think they've both been rebuilt. The body is good, with solid floors and trunk, and a few old patch panels that are starting to pop. I had some bodywork done regarding the rear body mounts between the frame and trunk. This was a structural repair, not cosmetic. This area rusts out on pretty much every one of these cars, and are often called "flower pots." The repair was done very well by a local shop. The car was partially restored 20-25 years ago (paint and interior, likely power train rebuilds as well), according to the previous owner. This car has been a lot of fun, and is a pleasure to drive. It runs, rides, handles very well. My family has really enjoyed it. Updates: -new fuel system from tank to carb. The only component I haven't replaced is the fuel pump. Otherwise, everything is new. -new wheels (wheel Vintiques 62-series 15") painted body color with wheel vintiques caps, new tires -Front disc brake upgrade, including power booster and stainless brake lines -electronic distributor (points eliminator kit) -various emblems, rubber components have been replaced-front and rear shocks It is an old car, so it has some quirks. It's kinda leaky, and is a bit cold-blooded when it sits for a week or more. Otherwise, it's great. In 2016 I road-tripped on a 700 mile+ round trip and it ran great. It keeps up on the highway at 70 mph without a problem, and it gets around 21 mpg. I'm happy to answer any real questions about the car. Please don't ask about "buy it now" etc. If I had opted for a "buy it now" listing, then you'd see a "buy it now" button. If you're interested, place a bid. It's that simple. The car winters in clean in-door storage every year. Photos are from June of last year. |
