Incredible survivor 1955 Chevy short bed stepside 3100. Truck spent its life in the dry climate of Arizona and was with its lifetime owner for over 55 years, used for light work on his rural property with occasional trips to town. When the original owner passed, his mechanic bought the truck from his estate and fully serviced it so it was road ready. It was his belief that the mileage on the truck was original at just under 25,000 based on the condition and mechanical feel of the truck on the road. While there is no definitive paper trail documentation to this mileage, the truck truly drives like it with no squeaks or rattles and all controls operate tightly like a very low mileage truck would. Windows roll up and down smoothly, doors close easily with a click. Its an amazing experience in a truck of this age. The truck has been repainted on the exterior in the past and the hot desert sun has baked it to the perfect patina that only Mother Nature can manage. Rust free body, no accidents or body filler, original wood remains thick and solid in the bed, and aged only as time and weather can age it. Interior of the truck is all original except for the seat cover, amazing original paint finish on everything and only the lightest of wear and age present. Numbers matching factory V8 engine looks and runs amazing, engine compartment is clean and untouched and has that untouched "wow" factor to it. Current owner is a long time Chevy truck collector in San Diego California who has owned many many examples in his lifetime of collecting and he says it is the best example he has ever owned when it comes to originality and the drive...a true once in a lifetime find. Regardless of his love affair with the truck he has made the hard decision to let it go. Sale includes the original owners manual as well as a reproduction one that you can thumb through without fear. He will also throw in the 50's California commercial plates if the buyer is located in California. Title is clean and clear. Additional photos are available, please contact for a link.
