1972 Chevy K-5 Blazer 4WD

This car is part of the Allen H. Dieringer estate collection. We (the family) have sold a dozen vehicles in the past few weeks and have a few more to liquidate. Mr. Dieringer had completed a frame-on restoration a few years ago, and this truck has been in storage since. It is a 4WD, K5 Blazer with 350, automati, PS, PB, and factory air (compressor locked up). The interior is very clean, and all original other than a late model steering wheel. The dash pad, dash paint, carpet, upholstery, etc. are all in very good condition, and correct. The removable top is very clean with no cracks, with the exception of the hinges on the back glass (they are stiff and possibly will break if forced open). The paint on the truck is very shiny and is a repaint of what we believe to be the original color. There are several nicks and scrapes on paint, but it still looks great as you can see in the photos. Our mechanic has the truck running, and the we've confirmed the 4WD works. Mechanically, the engine starts and does not smoke, but after sitting a few years, likely will need some attention. Also, the undercarriage is damp, so assume there are oil leaks, but I'm not sure if it is the engine, trans, or both. Mr. Dieringer was a fan of "all original" vehicles, and this one is no exception. The truck truly is a looker, with a great color and correct interior, etc. Several locals have been waiting on this truck to go on auction, so be diligent with your questions, and please make arrangements to view in person if possible, or send an inspector if you like. And remember, this truck is 45 years old, so there may be things I missed, but none of our other buyers have been disappointed. Thanks and good luck!

I've had several requests for more information, so here you go. I got this truck out of the warehouse yesterday and took quite a few photos underneath as well as a photo of the build sheet in the glove box. If you will copy and paste the link below into your browser, it will take you to a Google Photo folder with all the extra pics. Here is what I'd like to update after looking at and driving the Blazer again yesterday.
1. The undercarriage, as you can see, is almost 100% dry. In an effort to be extra cautious, I warned of potential leaks earlier, but that was looking where it had been sitting for at least 4 years. I would say you won't have to worry about any seals currently.2. The engine is running very smoothly and there is no smoke even when starting cold.3. The transmission shifts very smoothly.4. The steering is tight and the front end tracks straight.5. The brakes are solid, stopping in a straight line with little effort.6. Using a magnet, I've found only one area on the passenger door that is not solid metal. In the photos, you'll see it's on the lower corner of the door, about the size of my hand. Apparently there is filler in that small area. Again, ALL metal.8. The temp, oil pressure and amp gauges are working. The fuel gauge is not.9. The tires are excellent, and they have raised white letters turned inward.
