Description of 1986 Chevrolet El Camino SS |
Seller's Description: I have a 1986 Chevrolet El Camino SS. This truck was originally a floor shift, 3-speed, two tone gray, SS truck. I have the factory spec sheet to prove it. I have no idea why anyone would remove these, but they did. This car came from a small dealership in Illinois in 2/2013. Prior to that, it was sold new in Indiana. As such, I am sure there is the usual rust underneath. I have not seen any major issues. Under the hood, the 305 is all stock. I recently installed an OEM style radiator, trans cooler lines (were leaking)and new upper and lower fan shroud. The A/C is charged with R-12 and blows ice cold. I replaced the condenser with NOS GM Harrison, all the a/c lines, compressor and blower motor when I purchased it in 2013. I recently put a rebuilt carburetor on it from US Carburetor too. I have also had $700.00 worth of work done on the brakes. I have also put a new OEM style exhaust, OEM ralley wheels and OEM radio in it that is factory correct per specs (cassette and all functions work great on radio, it was rebuilt). This truck is mechanically sound. It drives, stops and starts fine. The transmission shifts too early sometimes ( was told it was a problem with the bands/governor.) It has been this way since I purchased it. It's really not a problem when driving. Current odometer reading is 87XXX. I am unsure if this is accurate. . (I have been driving this car daily.) Recently had right side exhaust manifold replaced with NOS since it was leaking. Paint is decent, it does have ghost flames. Interior is decent, but dirty. Has typical seal deterioration around doors, jicky power door locks and loose door hinges. All of these issues are typical of this era G-Body. Overall, a solid, straight, mechanically unmolested cruiser that turns heads and gets attention. Buyer responsible for transport. No warranty expressed or implied. Please ask questions. Make me an offer. Vehicle is listed for sale in Hemming's as well. Truck will come with lots of new parts I have acquired that will help restore it back to specs, including:
