You are Bidding On a Beautiful Original 1965 Big Block Corvette 396/425 Factory Side Exhaust Car. I purchased this corvette in 2002 it was in need of a total restoration, a complete frame off restoration was started in 2005, completed in 2008. The engine was not in the vehicle, but did come with the car, I have the original engine block, cylinder heads, crankshaft, rods, intake manifold. I really wanted to rebuild this engine, but i let a good friend of mine, which is a corvette enthusiast talk me off of rebuilding this engine and installing it back into the original vehicle in which it came from. He said because of the rarity of this engine he wouldn't take a risk of damaging it, or possible destroying the engine. So i built a clone 396/425 which has the correct.0319 forged dome pistons, rods, steel crankshaft and camshaft as the 396/425. Of course it's not the right block or cylinder heads, As you can see by looking at the pic. it looks the part. The engine runs great, and it's very strong. Tranny is a Muncie M21 close ratio. Geared 3.70 posi. After deciding to put this car up for auction, I gathered up all the original engine parts and took them to a local well known credible machine shop a few weeks ago to have everything checked. Well he told me after checking everything out. That he wasn't sure about No.3 cylinder after checking it for the third time because it was so faint he found a small crack about midway down number three cylinder wall. I was disappointed when he first told me until he said not to worry it was really not a problem, he said he could sleeve it, and if you didn't know it, you wouldn't be able to tell it by looking. He also shared with me that having a engine block of this age and magnitude just needing just one sleeve was rare. He guarantee that it wouldn't be a problem. everything else checked out fine, i do have all the spec. on everything that was checked by machine shop. As you can see this is a beautiful car, it was painted in 2009 and it still looks great. HAPPY BIDDING!!!!
