Description of 1949 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3/4 Ton Pickup |
1949 Chevrolet 3600 3/4 Ton Pickup VIN: 21GRD3924 Check out this beautiful 1949 Chevrolet 3600 3/4 Ton Pickup! This truck had the same owner from 1966 to 2001. It was used around the farm from 1966 then parked in a barn in 1988 until it was sold in 2001. The gentleman that purchased the truck started the restoration in 2001 when he purchased it, and finished it in 2005. It was restored to original specifications, color and detail. The truck was fully disassembled down to the frame. It was then painstakingly reassembled with attention to detail in every square inch of this build. No expense was spared. The motor is the original, highly detailed 216ci Inline 6 cylinder backed up with the original 3 - speed manual transmission and differential. The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt, the valve seats were replaced with hardened seats for unleaded gas use. When viewing this 49 Chevy Truck, you will notice the flawlessly applied green paint and be amazed at the detail work throughout. The hood, fenders, and doors line up better than the day it rolled off the GM assembly line and of course, it starts and drives like the day it was built. The wheel centers were removed from the original split rims and professionally mounted to new tubeless rims and powder coated, thereby combining the original look of the hubcap with the modern convenience of a tubeless tire. Dual filament bulbs were added in the tail and parking lights to complete a concealed turn signal system operated by a toggle switch mounted under the dash on the left side. Black powder coating was applied to the driveshaft and carrier bearing housing, front inner fender panels, radiator bracket, hood latch panel, fender braces and mounting brackets, horn, voltage regulator and fuse box covers. Every nut, bolt, and washer used to assemble the body is stainless steel. The bolts connecting the rear fenders to the pickup box are the same clutch head fender bolts as when originally assembled at the factory. The speedometer was rebuilt keeping original mileage.
