Description of 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 210 w/ Belair trim |
1957 Chevy 210 (with Belair trim), turquoise and ivory exterior. I bought this as a project car about a year and half ago and I've got it mechanically in pretty good shape. I have not touched the body yet other than replacing the driver's window, restoring the driver's door regulator, and putting new wheels and tires on it. All photos were taken today. Mechanically, these are the parts that are new within the last year and a half. Dual master cylinder conversion, front disc brakes, rear drums, exhaust system, gas tank (filler valve, sending unit, etc), and rebuilt carburetor. The car came without an alternator and it now has a used one on it and working. Battery, wheels, and tires are new. The car starts right up and runs well. As you can tell from the photos, this is a project car. There is rust along the rocker panels and in several other spots. A previous owner did some work on the floor pan, but it probably could use more. Most of the gauges work - speedometer (although it reads high), oil pressure, gas gauge, headlights work, radio works. Horn and turn signals need to be worked on. The original color was Harbor Blue (I believe) and the seats are also blue. The engine is a 283 that I was told was from around 1958-1964. The transmission is a TH400, probably not original to the car. It does have a small fluid leak, which I am hoping to tighten up in the next couple of weeks. Included (see last pic): Heavy duty car cover, new heater core (the one in the car is working fine but was going to replace anyway), two turquoise shoulder/lap belts and two back seat lap belts, white wall cleaner, glass setting channel kit, and the four hubcaps that came with the car when I bought it. This is really a nice project car, I just don't have the time or space for it. I got a good start on it and hope someone can carry it on to completion. |
