It is a 1 of 1, 1987 Traco/Guldstrand Chevrolet Corvette GS 80 roadster. Corvette experts will remember that Roger Penske and Chevrolet contracted suspension guru Dick Guldstrand (Guldstrand Engineering, Culver City, California) and the performance wizards at Traco Racing Engines to develop the now priceless 6 original... Grand Sport Corvettes. This particular Corvette was purposely built in 1988 to be the fastest Corvette Convertible in the world. Road & Track Magazine featured The Worlds Fastest Street Car Shootout in 1988 and NASCAR driver Ricky Rudd pushed this car to 172 miles per hour at the TRC Test Track in Ohio. This car was driven to and from the track that very day. It is an incredible car throughout and can be driven anywhere. The engine- a NASCAR-grade 388ci, Traco built small block Chevy V-8. The engine alone...$27,000!!! ZF 6 speed transmission, McLeod "Street Twin" dual disc clutch with aluminum flywheel, oil cooler, 500 watt stereo, cruise control and of course....A/C.
